Life Size Apocalypse Bust
Life Size Apocalypse Bust
Hello,
Just wanted to show some of my progress on my 3d Printed Apocalypse Bust. I created the model myself using Maya and Zbrush. Printed on Hatchbox PLA .1 Layer Height 4% infill.
All these parts will be printed separately.
177 of Print time!
So far so good.

Man, you zbrushers always amaze me. So much detail! It must be gratifying to see your models coming to life.
Re: Life Size Apocalypse Bust
Here's another update. Head is completely printed!
Time to remove supports and hope not to damage the print. Then its off to print the ears and assemble the head and base of the neck.

Considering the 177-hour head, the whole one looks really a huge project.
Looking forward the end result!

Wow, It looks amazing!
The pimples and pores in the skin are very well detailed. very impressive
By the way, does the supports come off easily?. I have experienced difficulty removing supports with a layer height bellow .15mm, apparently the smaller the layer the messier the transition support-part.

Mind sharing your print settings for the head?

I used dense supports and they were difficult to take off. I also made the mistake of doing a solid are of supports so the supports under the neck were extremely hard to take off. Lately I have just not been using dense supports and its alot easier to remove. They still don't simply come off by hand but still a bit easier.
Re: Life Size Apocalypse Bust
Making good some progress on my 3d printed bust of Apocalypse. There's another piece of the neck armor in the printer as we speak. Nothing is glued at this point, waiting to have all the parts printed out to see how they fit.

Thanks!
Max support overhang angle is standard 60° (Default)?

Update on the Neck Armor
Re: Life Size Apocalypse Bust
JL Mussi,
First of all, excellent piece of work!!
What was the printer you used? How long did it take to print the head?
I would appreciate very much your kind answer.
Best regards

Is there a particular piece you want the setting on? Is there a way to pull your print setting off the gcode file itself? I kept overriding my print templates.
