Bottom layer and side

Postby Tee » Sun Sep 24, 2023 3:32 pm

Hi. Are the something I can fine tune for getting a smoother bottom layer? Getting some "bubbles" on the side too.
The top looks and feels nice.
It's a E2 with copperhead upgrade

55° on the bed

We are limited on what suggestions may work or not in this case since you have a 3rd party hotend installed, however, for the most part, the suggestions below should help or help guide you in the direction of addressing the concerns:

- The bottom surface looks pretty good to me, however, if you do feel as if the first layer can be improved, I recommend double-checking if your bed surface is not damaged in any way. Things like scrapes, tears, and bubbling/wrinkling of the Buildtak sheet can negatively affect your first layer look (and in some cases, lead to adhesion issues).

- Disable "first-layer shells" to help clean up the look of the first-layer surface.

- Change your bottom solid fill to "Monotonic solid fill" (will only work with rectilinear and lines solid fill patterns) This setting helps with keeping the bottom solid fill extrusions more uniform since the extrusions will be printed in order, resulting in a more consistent look.
