poor quality prints

Postby Croy5199 » Thu Nov 19, 2020 3:59 pm

I have started having issues with prints, Often the first three or so layers show some "shrinkage" does not happen if I raft. Some pulling away from the bed and just generally very poor quality.
I am using eSun PLA and used the raise3d supplied template.
I have checked the bed tramming. It's ok.
Confirmand the 0.2mm clearance between hotend and bed. OK
reloaded and used template.
tp-1, lifting off the bed.
tp-2, edge view showing rubbish first few layers.
tp-3, bottom view, i could never send this to a client.
Nothing seems to help. so i appeal to community or Raise3d to give some direction as i am now starting to suspect the machine itself.

It looks like you are printing with both nozzles.
Please make sure that you have checked and calibrated the Z offset for both left and right side hotends.

Hi Vicky,

Yes both Left and Right Z offset is ~0.02mm. Both are PLA from Raise3d so bot are set at same hotend temp during print.

It looks like the Z-offset is still slightly too high. The 0.2mm feeler gauge that is included with the machine is a good starting point to calibrate the Z-offset to, you may find with different material or brands of materials that some stick better than others and that the Z-offset may need to be adjusted slightly.
