Filament grinding always at this part of print

Postby robertbaruch » Wed Mar 20, 2019 6:22 am

Always when I get to this part of the print on my Raise3D N2, the ABS filament grinds and then no more extrusion. I'm using the BondTech extruder.

Image

I used IdeaMaker for slicing, at 0.1mm:

Default printing speed: 50.0
Inner shell speed: 40.0
Outer shell speed: 25.0
X/Y axis movement speed: 100.0
Z axis movement speed: 25.0

Extruder temp: 240C

Ideas?

Turn the temperature up to 260°C.

Nope, didn't help. Maybe IdeaMaker is trying to push too much out the extruder at this point?

Are you printing with the lid closed? The filament path can get too warm if you have everything closed up while you print and the bed temp is set high. Try running with the lid open

Yep, running with the lid off worked. I also slowed things down to 1000mm/min and sliced using Simplify3D. I'm probably going to try upping the speed again, and then going back to IdeaMaker to see if it's strictly the lid change that made the difference.

How about adjusting how much you are retracting?
