Pro3 Hyper Upgrade Print Settings???

Postby D_E » Thu Feb 09, 2023 1:19 pm

Hello, I'm looking for default/successful setting screenshots for Print Speeds, Acceleration, Flow Rates, etc. Anything you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I don't understand what you need.

Ideamaker 4.4.0 Alpha has everything you need in the templates for the Hyperspeed PLA and ABS.

for the possible Acceleration and flowrates have a look at their manual (far down on the page)
(max. 10k mm/s² Accel, 350mm/s Speed, Jerk of 10 and Flowrate of 30mm³/s)

It's been a while since I messed with those settings, but yes I found those settings. However, they are sort of vague with the settings and it seems like they're eluding to them being approximations. Almost as if they didn't have time to dial it presets of their own.

You're right, the settings are.... lets be nice... without great use for printing....

HyperSpeed ABS: Heatbed at 70°C... much to low for ABS... even cooling for ABS is set to 100% from the the 3rd layer on and the external cooling fan also.... plus minimum layertime to 10sec... not really high speed, or?

now what... cooling or layertime.... both only helps to get your print warping....

I know the 4010 Radial fans are not so strong but come on... then at least no external cooling! In combination with the 70°C heatbed you have a great chance that the part comes loose.

Then... "Fill gaps in shells" is active. ok, but... for fast and nice prints it is necessary to also activate the "allow filling gaps using single extrusion filling" which is, I asume, Raise3d's attempt at "variable line width" other modern slicers are using.

HyperSpeed PLA: In the spool it is writen 220-250. The Profile 220°C Nozzle and 60°C Heatbed... well... yes... and no...

In the standard profile there is a temperature rise from 205°C first layer, 210°C second and 220°C from 3rd Layer on...

This sounds at first ok, but... you also have at first layer a 0.52 (0.4 + 130%) Linewidth at a 0.3 layerheight and 110% flow at 50mm/s... which adds up to a flowrate of 8,2mm³/s where such a small temperature isnt needed.

Raise3D also is always at the bottom of their own recommendations (Spool ABS 240-270°C, Profiles 240/250°C, PLA 220-250°C, Profiles 215/220°C) so don't know why...

I hope for an upgrade for the 4010 cooling fans, as with PLA overhangs, even light ones, are not that good in HyperSpeed... yes you can print a benchy in around 18mins. with its standard profile... but... it looks "horrible", because of to less cooling... even with out printer cover... and/or external cooling.

That's all small things, but all in all adding up so that a recommendation for a Pro3 is a no.

Come on... you have to pay 1000 bucks only for the upgrade... and get an slicer in alpha state and not really optimised printing profiles...

As the early adopters continue to beta-test a modification that should be standard at this price-point, I have to wonder how widespread these experiences are for others that purchased this upgrade. Obviously the documentation is weak - that's a Raise3D hallmark, but the questions you are asking regarding the hardware and software would give anyone pause to consider implementing this mod without better Support feedback.

The enclosed 3D printer competition is surging forward with (much) lower prices, additional fail-safe features, (spaghetti detection being just one) and proven speed performance. All other things being considered equal, Customer support can make or break a product, and it seems on the decline over the past year - even with a second support specialist responding here.
