I've had a lot of success with my E2 printing PLA, and now I'm trying out Raise3D ABS & ASA, and MatterHackers PETG (which has been dried). Here's the issues I'm having:
* The first layer is not well adhered to the build plate. It's not miles off but there's no "squish" to be sure, except for the perimeters.
* The SECOND layer is not at all adhered to the first layer, except at the perimeters. When the print is done, I can slide the first layer lines around because they're not adhered to each other either, just pinned at the perimeters.
* From the second layer on, everything is totally solid.
What could cause this weirdness? For what it's worth, I've calibrated my nozzle offset, and checked my extruder tension. On my previous printers I've never seen something like this.
NOTE: not using a raft
Second layer issues?

Is this issue something that has just started occurring or has this problem always been occurring? Would you be able to show a few photos of the first as well as the second layer issues?
Re: Second layer issues?
This shows pretty clearly, I was able to separate and break off some of the layer lines with my thumbnail. All the layer lines slide around like a blanket.
Re: Second layer issues?
I got the first two layers to stick by changing FL flow rate to 120% and FL solid fill extrusion width to 140%. I still see this very weird underextrusion in the first few layers:
This is not seen in the preview:
I'm attaching the gcode as well.

By the way, my E2 is running RT 1.4.3.806, and FW 0.2.506

Thank you for clarifying all the information. Would you be able to print this small model out of PETG and share the results here? It is sliced for PETG on the left extruder.

Re: Second layer issues?
Here's the result. The first and second layers are not well bonded and the first layer outer perimeter is also not well adhered.

Thanks for the update. That is definitely very interesting. Would you be able to provide me with a few images of your hotend assembly? Also, in your testing did you find the issue to only occur on the left printhead? Or did it also exhibit the same behavior on the right printhead?
