Newb Question - Print Fail 2x

Postby elysianbike » Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:09 pm

Hey Folks,

I seem to be running into an issue with longer print times. I'm running a print of an EPS layer (the foam in a bicycle helmet).

Did a test print scaled down to 50% (10-12 hour run time) with minimal issues.
Repeated it at 100% (about 50 hours) and ran into some problems about 16 hours in (dual extrusion ABS/HIPS)
Went back to a single extrusion and somewhere between 10 - 18 hours in I got the same issue.

Since I'm pretty new to this process I'm a little unsure where to start with figuring out the problem. Coming from the fine art printing world (inkjet, etc) I'd run into occasional problems when the print files were simply too large (MB or physical size) something that was only solvable with an aftermarket RIP (raster image processor).

Thanks for your help.

Update: Seems that the printer just doesn't like to travel along the Y axis.

This is an odd one. : Especially since it printed well at the scaled down version....
Anyone have insights?

Is it caused by nozzle caught by Support? As there are a lot supports in model. Enabling Z hop and take a try?

Took me a little bit to get back to the forum. One of the couplers split.
Raise sent me a new one. Not too bad of a repair. Just a bummer that it happened on a new machine.
