Just got my N2 ordered and it has shipped! I was wondering what the must do upgrades are for this machine. I have already ordered the Bondtech extruders and will install once they all arrive, but curious as to what everyone else thinks are must haves.
Thanks

Re: Must do upgrades to N2
Hi dawyer47,
To be honest, even on my machine I have not really modded it like my old printers. For the most part I have a few extra glass plates with different surfaces on them for other material types. If you are going to install Bondtech we suggest you watch their video very carefully and ask the community here before proceeding if you have any questions. It is better to be safe than sorry later. Make sure you have all the necessary info before modifying anything and make sure the mods will be supported by either your reseller or direct from Raise.

One thing that I did that made a difference for me is to insulate the hotends with thermal insulation sheets and kapton tape. That made overhangs much nicer and removed warping in small thin parts. Otherwise stock is a really good setup I think.

Thanks for the feedback. Michael, as far as the bondtech extruders and insulated hot ends are both of those supported upgrades?

Re: Must do upgrades to N2
Sorry, but these are third part products, we cannot provide any official support to these.
Re: Must do upgrades to N2
insulating the hot end does not affect anything on the machine, mechanically so I don't see that affecting the warranty at all (if that's what you mean by support). the bondtech is a great upgrade not just for the Raise printers I have, but also the Rostock max and heavily modded Makerbot 2's and 2x's and on the 10' tall delta we built. there are a ton of friendly people on here along with threads that can help with the Bondtech upgrade.
