Add an option in the HMI that allows us to 'put a new roll' on the printer with 'x' weight. Then when we print a part decrement that weight from the roll. Weight is not 100% accurate but it would help with knowing how much is left on a roll and if the next print is close to using it all up.
Next option if this is implemented could have the printer open up a warning window that there may potentially not be enough filament if remaining on roll is within 10% of what the print requires.
We can see it will be a good feature. But what worry us are currently it will be very hard to achieve the accurate result to do the calculation. Lots of factors will affect the result, such as the estimated filament mount in gcode file is not that accurate, sometime user takes off the filament spool but set printer for loading or unloading, and usually not all the filament spools are starting use from a full spool (you use some and replace another for other use and replace the other half spool back for different tasks).
But anyway, we will try to figure it out, what can we help to achieve this.
