Lens hoods for super-telephoto camera lenses

My main side gig is photography.
One of my cool toys is a Nikon 400mm f/2.8 lens. Big lenses like this typically use a clamping screw arrangement to secure the lens hood in place, which I don't like. It's not real secure and it's a bit fiddly getting the hood on the lens. I've had my hood fall off the lens 3 times while walking around. A replacement hood is about $600 US, and a hood that is in good shape is good for resale value.

So I decided to see if I could design and print a decent replacement. I got to a decent baseline pretty quick, but there have been a lot of little tweaks. I'm printing with 3DXTech glass-filled ABS using a ruby nozzle. My printer is an N2 with a Duet2 Wifi controller board and bondtech extruder. I've also added heat to the box and these are printing in a 55C enclosure.

I've cleaned up the retraction so I'm now printing with random starts to eliminate the zipper.

These hoods can be mounted reversed for storage.
