help. nozzle keeps bumping into part im printing

Postby emili90110@Gmail.com » Sat Apr 02, 2016 6:42 pm

its like a speed bump certain movements will scrape the nozzle along the support or raft of a part, its driving me crazy with every print. I tried leveling. bed is heated and parts are sticking to bed very good. too good. what is going on? when the raft layer being made, it to thick on the spots where it over laps and its causing a high point.
is this something to do with the support overlay or something in settings?

It sounds like you are to close to the bed when first layer puts down. Have you tried and adjust the gap between the nozzle and the bed?

can it have something to do with flow rate I have it at 92. I can put it lower maybe? I can try a larger gap if that fixes it

I'd raise the nozzle up a bit more. Do you have dual extruders? Some people remove the 2nd extruder, or move it up if not in use

A picture off the problem is always helpful.

You can follow this instructionhttps://www.raise3d.com/pages/wiki. The ○Dual Extruder Printings part. You can move one side nozzle up a little bit.

As I posted in other threads. I find that my N2 is VERY sensitive to nozzle crashes. I removed the right side nozzle and I added a MUCH stronger downward fan... which helps a lot with PLA... see the upgrades thread.
I would also suggest not printing with a raft if you really do not need it unless your bed is not level to within needed tolerances.

fwiw: every time I've had similar problems on other printers it has been due to inadequate cooling of the previous layers.

you guys are on to something I did increase length from bed to nozzle and it helps. I don't have dual extruder. I'm going to go now and buy a small desktop fan and point at it when doing pla I think it is because of lack of cooling. try a print again
