Print shells In Optimal Order vs Shells and Infill Order ??

Postby GonzoG » Sun Aug 07, 2022 10:51 pm

Which setting takes priority ??
If I have set "Print Shells In Optimal Order" and Shells and Infill Order to Outer->inner->infill, it does not always print outer shells first.
Especially when there is on hole in body, it will print one wall with inner shells first.
And there is no rule if it's the hole or external wall that will be printed with internal shells first.

With "Print Shells in Optimal Order" it does always print outer shells first, but jumps all over the model, to print outer shells before any inner shells and then goes jumping again printing one inner shell for each wall.

With Print Shells In Optimal Order disabled, printer will print according Shells and Infill Order no matther how far the extruder needs to move.
With Print Shells In Optimal Order enabled, printer will print the closer shell lopps first instead always follows the outer shell and inner shell priority defined by Shells and Infill Order.
You will neeed to check your print result first to decide whether Print Shells in Optimal Order does help your print.
