I am printing with wood filament at 165-185c and it is prone to clog/burn if left in the nozzle, so I want it to purge filament and then retract enough to exit the hot zone after it is done printing.
Does this look good? Not sure how far I need to retract, so if anyone else got any hint about how much I should retract then please let me know. I want enough for it to be in the top part of the heat break, but not so much that it unload.

Re: Help with end gcode when printing wood filament
hi,
I don't know which printer you use and what nozzle (MK or Volcano...) or even if it's bowden or direct drive
Before each G1 E[x] you'll have to insert a 'G92 E0' line or you'll get strange things with the extruder.
If you want to get the filament out in the unmelting part the vertical length between nozzle and middle of the HeatBreak fan is a good starting point.
In the GCode the F parameter is Units per minutes
If you use millimeters and want a 25mm/s extruder move you should type F1500 (25x60->1500)
Regards

Re: Help with end gcode when printing wood filament
Your concept is correct, but it does matter what machine you are attempting to do this on.
You should also not need a G1 command before the G92 as you did set the extruder to relative mode here.

I have the Raise3d E2.

Re: Help with end gcode when printing wood filament
Thank you for the information. At this time I do not recommend adjusting the Gcode for the E2 as what you are suggesting to do can cause jamming issues due to hot filament moving into the cold zone and expanding and this will cause issues.
