Where can I quell overzealous notifications?

Postby Olly Oxenfree » Sat Oct 24, 2020 7:06 pm

Hi, is there somewhere I can reduce the number of Notifications I have to click "OK" or the Close "X" in the top corner?

When I Export to an SD, after saving I get an "it exported OK" then followed another Information dialog. Both of which I don't care about, but still have to close manually.

I have never had an Export fail so I can live with the risk of a very-rare failure instead of having to click "OK" for two dialogs, 50-times a day. :)

Thanks

It is for faster locating the target folder for users.
You use esc button to exit Modal Dialog.

Thanks, I know that works, but I am just suggesting cutting down on needlessly repetitive keystrokes. I have been printing about 50-parts a day and that means that 100-times today, I have had to click on stuff ("OK", "Esc" etc) I do not need to see.

Maybe have a "Do not ask this again" button in each dialog.

I really like IdeaMaker but your Human Interfacing (HI) is not what software this good deserves. The underlying technical slicing is way ahead of anything else, free or paid for that I have used. It is a shame to see it make the user struggle with some of this HI stuff.

We will add Do not ask this again option into developing list.

If you do add a "do not ask again" feature, please also put something in preferences to turn it back on. MS Windows has famously made some of its options one-way. Once you turn it off, you can never turn it back on. Who knows, sometime in the future, a user might have to do some troubleshooting and needs the feature turned back on for a while, or someone else might need to use your computer for a day. Or you might accidentally click the "do not ask again" button when you meant to hit "OK." Personally, I hit <esc> way more than 100 times in a single day, so it doesn't bother me. It gives my pinky some exercise. :D

We will take adding this option into Preferences into consideration.
