API file upload

Postby ideaslab » Wed Aug 05, 2020 11:51 am

Hi!
I am wondering is it possible to remotely upload files (gcode) to a Raise3D E2, in order to then create a new job through the API and start a print. For context we are trying to integrate multiple of these printers, along with other brands into a central 'start print' station. I understand there is a specific file upload port, is it possible to use this?
Cheers

We currently support two ways to upload files to printer via ideaMaker and RaiseCloud.

If you are looking for API control, you will need to go to developer mode on touchscreen. The following links can help guide you to where it is located on touchscreen.

Oh I see, are there any plans to allow file upload through the API?

The current version doesn't support this feature.
We will add your request into developing list and release it with future versions.

Hello,

Are there any updates on this feature? I would like to implement it.

In the developer mode, API does support uploading file.
Please make sure API is enabled then use browser to visit http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10800 to check the instruction.
You can find Create New Job under Job section.

I cannot seem to find it. When I visit http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10800, all I see under File is "Get File List". Do I need to update the printer?

My apologize. Just double confirmed with the developing team. The API doesnt support directly uploading file. They will see how we can achieve it.

Would you be able to send out a message to Raise3D users when an "Upload new print File" API function (or something of that sort) has been implemented?

Confusingly enough, Create New Job basically just means "Start printing a file that's already been uploaded onto the printer", not "upload a new job to the computer"
