Free IDE (Code Editor) for 3D Printers

Postby Vagulus » Wed Jul 24, 2019 7:46 am

Where can I download a (free) IDE (Code Editor) for 3D Printers?
There are plenty around for CNC machines. There must be some for 3D Printers.
Notepad++ can read and write GCode but it doesn't have a screen simulation for action. CNC IDEs (e.g. NC_Corrector) have a screen simulation but they don't show much if you feed them code if a 3D printer.

Thanks

Another problem with NC_Corrector, it doesn't recognise Raise3D GCode.
I created a simple test piece in Autodesk Inventor, saved an STL of it and sliced that STL using ideaMaker. Files attached.

NC_Corrector sees something there but can't understand the code.

Here it shows an incorrect symbol at Line 30 (E) when Line 30 is simply telling the machine to extrude 10 mm of filament (I think that is what it is saying). It also does not like semi-colon (;) used as a comment symbol.

There must be something better available but it is hiding from me.

I could use some help here.

Thanks

Atom has a GCODE plugin. It's a straight up text editor, so there's no side-by-side simulation of what any particular bit of code does but it does do syntax-coloring/highlighting.
