Network file locations for print settings?

We have multiple people using their own MS Windows logins to access IdeaMaker and we're having issues with ensuring the print settings they are using are the most up-to-date. With the continuous fine-tuning of template settings, re-importing our more frequent print profiles is a daily task and can be frustrating and time consuming since the profiles aren't automatically updated across all users.

Is there any way to specify a network location that IdeaMaker can pull it's printer, filament and slicer profiles from? Or is there another way to go around this?

Thanks.

Link the folder under Help -> Configuration Folder to the folder in OneDrive, such as onedrive/ideaMaker. Once it completes uploading, login the account in the other computer. Link the Configuration Folder in new computer to the shared directory in OneDrive and start sync.
Wait until sync completes, then open ideaMaker. Check out all the settings, if they don't match, you can restore in OneDrive.

If you only want to sync printer templates, filament settings or slicing templates, you just need to link that folder and sync. Or the Preferences and Recent Files will be copied together.

But if you have added new printer or slicing templates, you will still need sync from config directory.

Note: Don't forge backup everything under Help -> Configuration Folder in case anything being messed during process.

Hi Vicki,

This is a great option for some networks but we utilize shared network drives for privacy and security reasons. Is there any way to specify a master directory to pull and push the files instead of juggling files from multiple synchronized folders?

Thanks.

Do you mean that you want to choose a folder in your computer to make it to be the configuration folder and this folder is available for all users using the computer but not only the current user?

Yes, that is correct. This would enable mapped network drives to be used as well which is what we would want to do.

Thanks.

Right click your ideaMaker icon. You can find Start in under Properties -> Shortcut. If you want to change the configuration directory to be D:\a, you can edit it to be -p D:\a. So that everytime when you click ideaMaker icon it will use D:\a as configuration directory. You can also go to Help -> Configuration Folder to confirm whether the edit works or not.
Do forget to copy all the data from the original configuration directory to the new directory before start doing this.

Hi Vicki,
This looks like the solution I have been looking for. However, this did not seem to work for me. I did as you mentioned below but it still points to the original location.

I can't see the full directory of your Target location. It should be the original directory + "Space" -p D:/a
And the Start in should be the directory of exe. Please take the attached picture as a reference.
