update,.. date?

Postby Thomllama » Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:35 pm

do we have an idea on a date for the next update? really love IdeaMaker, but the whole layer height/1st layer height thing screws me up too much. :/ . hoping the fix will be in there and coming soon?

thanks

What issue? I'm out of the loop.

The layer height can only be a bit higher than the 1st layer height. Not an issue with standard .4 nozzle and .2 layers. But, when wanting to do large layer heights with big nozzles, and still wanting the first layer to be like .2 for best bed adhesion, It’ll limit you layer height for the rest of the print to like .24, instead of say .3 you actually want.

Thanks you for asking this question. I had heard about it (the update) last month and have been checking the site regularly for information. Vicky, can you tell us which things will be updated? It sounds like IdeaMaker but what about the RaiseTouch?
Can you tell us about what advances we will see? (If you have already answered these questions just tell us and we can find them)
Thanks again...
James

We will release a new version of ideaMaker this month. And the new version of RaiseTouch is coming soon as well.
We will have a lot new features added into both ideaMaker and RaiseTouch. We will release the release notes with the software release together.

Is the update coming out this month or is it going to be delayed?

Will the update include an update to a remotely current version of Marlin for the N-series? It is currently about three years out of date.

We are planning to release a beta version of ideaMaker this month and the new touchscreen firmware is under testing now. We may release it some time next month.
And I haven't heard any news about the update of motion board firmware.

RaiseTouch firmware is under final testing. We are planning to release it either late next month or early May.
