Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
hi there,
'Vector 3D' created a very nice method to calibrate the x and y axis of the printer (youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbWAhb40kG4)! is uses a large 3d model so the error of measering is way smaller than with a regular calib cube 20mmx20mm...
right now ideamaker has no option for "shrinking" / "enlarging" x- and y-axis separately, and the dimensional Compensation is only for both axis at the same time... in Superslicer i can set this very easily and save the values to a material-profil...
right now i'm scaling the object manually, this is not a big deal, but it would be awesome, if i could save this in my profiles or printer-settings globally...
would be really nice to have this feature, what do you think?
cheers
philipp

You can find compensation settings in Percentage under Printer Settings.

Re: Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
would it be possible to add this feature in the filament settings?
different materials tend to different variances...
abs shrinks much more than pla for example...
this would be awesome!!

Are you looking for the compensation for material shrinkage?

Re: Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
exactly, right now i'm doing it like you said before...
i made a new printerprofil for each material, but it would be nice to add a scale-multiplier with "%" in the filament tab...
what would be a good way of doing it?

Re: Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
We are running tests with some new options related to material shrinkage. And they wont be just under Filament Settings, but also some of them will be under model Scale panel.
Re: Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
Maybe a stupid question, but why is there no Z compensation. My X and Y are prefect due to XY correction in printer setting, and for Z I use scale only Z.
Pls advice

The feature is still under testing. May have to go with the version after next release.

We will open Z axis shrinkage compensation in future versions.
Re: Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
Vicky, I’m confused. Why is a designer implement XY compensation and forget Z. I bought in December my first Raise3D printer. I don’t believe I had so many surprises in my life as the last 5 months. It’s really unbelievable what motivate and drives Raise3D. I bought the pro3 to have the best of the best, with what I know now not the smartest decision. Raise3D is proven not to learn and evaluate, even look and learn from other suppliers is no option. Mistakes made in the N2 periode are simply copied to the pro2 —> pro3. Basic function as Z compensation will be implemented (maybe) after 8 years on the market. I wish you all the best with the jump to the professional market with your new printers.
One suggestion from me. Advice the general manager or CEO to have a look at this form. It won’t surprise me when he is shocked.

Re: Wish: XY -Compensation in Percentage?
Material Shrinkage has XYZ direction compensation. Which is going to scale the model according to Material.
XY compensation is a hardware compensation which was developed for N series machine calibration. There was no huge Z axis deviation found on N series machines when the feature was developed. So Z direction was not developed as an option.

Vicky, pls read your answer again. You are talking about the N2 8years ago. We are living in the 21 century and we have after the pro2 the pro3. Pls wake up why is this problem not solved during the development of the pro3. Just copy the N2 is a bloody shame, or you need to sell the pro3 for the N2 price
