E2 overshoot extruder temp. PID not helping

Postby FOGD.NO » Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:50 am

I get temp error a few times while starting print where it state that temp was above 15c or something and I need to restart.

After this I have PID tuned and looked at the temp while it heat up before print. Specially the right side is shooting 16c above set temp, and wonder if anyone got better setting to use in the manual PID.

Hi

After replacement of hotend by Copperhead hotend, I got:
(PID auto recal at 250°C)

What I currently have:
Left, copperhead hotend, 30W heater: 18.63 / 0.72 / 56.35, got 1°C overshoot, <timing deleted, see next post>
Right, copperhead hotend, 40W heater: 12.64 / 0.45 / 38.59, got 5°C overshoot, <timing deleted, see next post>

From my notes, I had before change:
Left, Raise3d hotend, 30W heater: 21.57 / 1.1 / 43.24, unknown overshoot, reach 200°C in 73 seconds, 250°C in 99s.

I still have not changed the heater on left as I am lazy and waited for an issue with it to upgrade it, but there was no issue. From poor experience with the original hotend, I would have expected an issue requiring the full disassembly of the hotend much earlier.

I have redone an auto PID and got only 1-2 °C hysteresis.

Parameters:
Left, copperhead hotend, 30W heater: 20.17 / 0.78 / 56.12, got 1°C overshoot, reach 200°C in 103 seconds, 250°C in 157s.
Right, copperhead hotend, 40W heater: 12.90 / 0.45 / 38.70, got 2°C overshoot, reach 200°C in 69 seconds, 250°C in 95s,

I have redone the measurement of time to reach temperature, there was some strange result in the previous ones.

Can you share with me the serial port log of the printer so I can see how the temperature function is occuring on the printer? You can access it by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner → click more settings → click serial port log export the file and attach it to this thread?
