Bed Leveling

Postby s4eric » Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:12 pm

Is there a more comprehensive guide to this procedure? Specifically, if the corner screws should be adjusted in a certain order and how adjusting the center screw affects the others.

I followed this guide:

https://www.raise3d.com/academy/how-to- ... on-the-e2/

However, I am not able to achieve a good flatness result <.25 no matter how the screws are adjusted. The right side of the bed always measures low, even with the screws loosened to just engage all the threads. I had a previous issue with the nozzle being driven down into to build plate. Could this have possibly warped the heat bed?

Would you like to try to level and measure the bed when it is only slightly warm.
Can you see whether you can physically push the bed sprints down on each adjustment point?

Similar results. The corner springs can be easily compressed, center point is stiffer.

Can you try tighten each point just enough until you can't compress the springs easily. Once you have it to that point go ahead and make small adjustments to get the flatness under 0.20mm. Try to always keep the springs under enough tension so they can not be easily compressed.

That helped some, but still have the right side being lower. I do not have problems adjusting to a good flatness on two other E2s.

The issue this causes is during duplication mode printing. I have to increase the Z offset for the right extruder to compensate for this, as I do not see an option to set the raft or global Z offset per extruder. The offset would need to be changed back for normal mode printing.

Would you mind taking a photo of your setting screen so that we can see what versions of firmware your machine is currently running? To find the correct screen select the gear icon at the top right corner of the touchscreen and select the machine tab.

I'm on the most current versions.

I was able to get it leveled at ~.1 flatness, using a slightly different method. I adjusted the other screws tighter (ignoring their measurement), relative to the right side. Then I was able to fine tune them all.

Please advise whether you have gone through the X-axis level up function to ensure that the X-axis is perfectly level.

Yes, I always do that before making any leveling adjustments.
