Heating Faults - +12 hour prints

Postby Poke » Fri Jun 26, 2020 10:17 pm

Hi Raised + Community,

I have reached out to our supplier but i want to throw this up here for more support.

Please bare with this there is a bit of info here

Im having re-occurring Heating faults on our right extruder for prints over 12 hours.

-Original error occurred on a 40 hour duplicating file @ 15-20 hours roughly.
-Note: The nozzle didnt lift up after the error (lift nozzle in event of power loss or pause is turned on) which made a nice little seat for the nozzle to sit in, after restarting the print it dislodged it from the bed. (example attached)
-We bailed on that print and tried the same design smaller quantity for 25 hour print time but the fault occurred more frequently but we continued to push through the print restarting after each error until eventually the layer shifted and wasn't printing inline of previous layers (binned it)
-Printing 15 hours left extruder only - all good continued this over weekend
-11.5 hour duplication print - completed no error

We have be printing various different files for under 12 hours one after the other with no issues. Began a few of designs which completed 12 hour prints with increased quantities that exceed 12.5 hours and heating faults occur within 2-3 hours for start.

Re-seated all the connections on the extruders board, also heated nozzle and tried wiggling connections on it and into the hotend to get it to throw an error but nothing

Version 1.4.0.103
Firmware 0.2.506

Regards
Richard

Update:

Managed to complete a 16 hour print, but the following 6.5 hour print failed 4 hours in with a temp failure.

Can anyone please assist on what to check or any ideas of whats causing this frequently happening.

Today was a very cool day so its not as if the room was ever over 25 degrees celsius.

Regards

It is very likely a hardware, either on cable or on extruder board.
You may need to contact our support for further diagnose at http://help.raise3d.com.
