Simple Dual Extruder Print ??

Postby Rockman » Mon Aug 15, 2016 7:26 pm

Having fun with this amazing N2 printer. The prints a just really sweet - happy I bought one.

My son and I would like to do a simple two color print to try it out and test. Something like the following:
http://www.thingiverse.com/make:202335

I looked through the FAQs hoping I would find some guidance nor did I see any through Forum search( did I miss it ??).

Can anyone provide a few steps or checklists before I try printing the object in the link on my N2 ?

Thank you in advance.....

R

you need 2 objects (stl files). load one, click on it and set to left extruder. Load the next one, click on it, select R extruder and move it into position. then slice away!

BUT start out with dual head calibration objects so you can get your head offset correct. (that is in printer settings)
Also set the Right extruder 5 degrees warmer than the left .
use the wipewall, it really helps

Please check whether the height of your two nozzle is at the same height.
We will set the left nozzle lower than the right one by default.
So in most cases, you need to lower the right nozzle to match the height of the left.

If you are using ideaMaker, you can choose both of your models and enable Move button.
There is an Align Together button. Try it.

Set the right temperature a little higher than the left, because the right side has longer loading path.

Thanks for the advice......

Well.....I took a leap of faith and printed two simple objects using both extruders....I did not change any settings....all default. ..

I'm no expert, but to my eyes, they look pretty damn good !...
..love this printer :)

excellent! those cones scale up nicely too if you want to test something big but simple, they are also good for looking at head alignment offset

All default . I DID NOT calibrate or adjust nozzle...used factory settings. Check out the print......I'm quite impressed Raise3d !!!

I can only imagine if I calibrate what this N2 can do.....amazing.
