N1 printer bed sensor

Postby Deepspaceobject » Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:44 pm

Hello, I am thinking of buying a Raise3D NI.

My current 3D printer is a quite basic Reprappro which uses an infra red bed height sensor which is not very accurate so that the bed has to be re-callibrated on most occasions that I use it.

Can you please tell me what type of bed height sensor is used on the N1 and do you find that once set the zero nozzle heights remain accurate.

Thank you.

Hi Deepspaceobject,

We currently use mechanical end stops for the Z axis homing procedure, they are adjusted by an offset screw on the back of the Z gantry.

Hi Michael, thank you for the information. Does the offset need changing regularly or does it last for some time once set?

Thank you,

Brian

It can last for some time once you set it to be properly.
And there have another four adjusting screws under the printing platform which can also adjust the height. If minor adjusting during daily use, you can adjust those four screws directly.
