Most forums nowadays (including the old Raise forum) have a section for "Recent Activity" or at least highlighting of sections where there has been new activity. Here it seems I have to check every section to see if there are new posts?

I click on the "unread posts" link to show me all the activity that has happened since my last visit.

Sounds like a solid plan Derek, it will remain searchable then and wont cost extra.
If possible i would also block new messages by ppl already registered to make sure no new content will be added
