Inquiry on Z Rod that contains the ball bearings

Postby jdaved402 » Thu Jul 02, 2020 12:40 am

I was wondering if each of the two rods that actually drive the bedplate vertically, the ones that have the balls, are driven by two motors (motors driving each rod individually) or have a belt connecting the two with a single motor controlling the turning of both?

Pro2 is the same frame as the N series.
ONE Z motor drives both ballscrews via a timing belt in the base.

One of the few threads I could find with pictures. https://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php ... elt#p20717
Single motor is attached via a flex coupler, and then the belt drive transfers power to the far shaft tip of the other ballscrew.

Thanks for the quick response Jetguy. I was wondering if you could manually turn one and have them slightly slant the plate, but it doesn't seem like this is possible if they are mechanically coupled.
