nozzle drool or maybe prime?

Postby markm » Tue Jun 11, 2019 8:11 am

Whenever I start a print after the extruder comes up to temp it extrudes probably a couple of inches before it starts to print. But then it drags the extra extrusion over to the print and messes it up, I have to sit and watch it till it starts to move and grab the mess off the nozzle.
I thought it used to wipe but maybe that was with a different slicer. I this a setting or something?
I have the latest SW and FW.

#1 yes it's a nozzle prime.
#2 Yes, there are half a dozen topics and ways to fix his discussed near weekly.

2 schools of basic thought:
Adjust your limit switch and bed location arrangement such that the nozzle purges over the edge and thus just drops- and that same thought combined with always using a 1-2 ring skirt around the part to ensure any prime failed gets stuck in the skirt loops, not in your part.

OR

Adjust your starting gcode in your profiles from the new defaults that Raise has been putting in. Either adjust the way it primes, remove the prime, or whatever you decide you like best- it's just gcode.
