Issues upgrading to Matchless nozzle

Postby crw1018 » Thu Jun 06, 2019 8:15 pm

on our Pro2 here at work we wanted to experiment with a larger nozzle to get quicker prototypes out. after following all of the instructions via the Raised Academy youtube videos im still running into issues.

changed nozzle from stock .40 to Matchless .60 using gap of .2 as described from the videos. the silicone piece does not seem to have as much clearance due to the tip of the matchless being much shallower. leading to filament getting trapped between the hotend and the silicone.

should I be using the stock gap or leave some thread showing on the nozzle?

also doe anyone have any idea on some of the IdeaMaker settings i should be using? i keep getting "Ratio 1.2" errors on layer height and bridging

Thanks a ton!!!

The gap we recommend to leave between nozzle and heating block is for leave enough room to make sure that the throat tube above the nozzle at the other side of the heating block has sealed with nozzle with no gap.
What you will need to leave a tiny gap between nozzle and heating block when you first screw the nozzle into heating block. Then tighten the throat tube from the other side until you feel it touches the nozzle. Then tighten the nozzle with a socket wrench completely.
Attached a instruction guide for your reference. If it is still hard to achieve, feel free to contact our technicians directly at http://help.raise3d.com

For the error you see in ideaMaker, may I ask for some screenshots for better understanding?

Can I ask where you ordered the nozzles? The 3D Solex website only seems to have Matchless nozzles for the N2 series.

Try Google - it's amazing!

That's great. That isn't a Matchless nozzle though, just a regular one.
