Filament Grind in the hole before reaching the guide tube

Postby Sunshine » Mon Nov 26, 2018 12:59 pm

Hi,

Recently purchased a Pro2, has been working great. When I started a print this morning, I Heard a scraping sound from the printer. From the spool side I could see filament being scraped/grinded off in the small hole where the filament is being inserted before reaching the guide tubes. The tubes themselves have bits of filament PLA inside them like a powder. The filament itself looks fine but I could see this becoming an issue due to clogging or perhaps cracking the filament.

Does anyone have the same issue, or has an idea of how to solve it?

Thanks!

Would you like to share some pictures of your issue?
The filament should go directly into guide tube until reach to the run-out sensor instead of going into some holes first.

I needed to insert the guide tubes so that they were all the way through to the filament spools. Thanks for the help!

Just watch out the resistance. Increasing the length of guide tube may increase the feeding resistance.

Use pieces of sponge... it cleans filament... before feeding.

What is the dimensions of the guide tube? Outer/inner diameter? What kind of plastic is it? I have made a mod to my printer and need a longer tube than the original guide tube.

We have two batches, one is 6-OD, 4-ID. Another should be 4-OD, not sure about inner diameter, but considering the filament is 1.75mm, the inner diameter should be around 3mm.
