Tempered Glass issue

Postby iYura » Tue Jun 15, 2021 4:10 pm

Got original glass for Pro2, but at packaging name is Build plate for N2, SKU [S]5.11.00101 in original forum packing. When i open this package, turns out that glass had geometry issues and did not math table correctly. I discussed with reseller and was told that its common known issue, and i can put some filament or tape to secure the glass.

So i did. And in a few days i got cracked glass here.

Could you please explain, what was my mistake and how i can avoid it in the future?

Thank you!

Hi iYura,
I have seen that forumers that use glass on PRO2 don't put in direct contact with plane but use this:

https://www.ebay.it/itm/133216515691?ss ... 2749.l2649

So the material is ok to conduct the heat and keep the glass still.
This is ok when You want to use different materials on PRO2's bed.

The glass plate has been designed specifically for use in the N-series machines only and we do not suggest using anything other than the aluminum build plate on the Pro-series machine.

Your dealer is out to lunch regarding your printer. We have a single N2+ at work which uses the glass bed, and it's a PITA to keep locked down (paper clips / tape was used previously.) I designed and printed a plastic part that locks everything in place and it's been working great. Will probably have the part machined in aluminum to make it permanent.

That being said, this is what you want: https://www.buildtak.com/product/buildt ... -system-4/

The flexible build plate will pay for itself with much longer BuildTak surface life. We've installed three on our Pro2's six months ago and have had no complaints.

Hi,
I'm thinking to buy flex plate Build Tak.
The reason is that I use different material filament and it's easier to change from a bed to the other simple apply the flexplate with the bed.
I have only two questions :
Do You think that the bed levelling is the same or at some point, the flexible part can increase the difference in bed levelling?
Secondo point: how much is the temp with the flex BuildtTak between temp on screen Raise 3d and temp on the bed?
In other words if I set temp to 80°C on raise the temp on bed is less for the flex plate how much in % ?

Thanks

Sandro
