Manually Flashing the Controller?

Postby Docmani » Mon Mar 16, 2020 7:58 pm

I had a question that I was hoping someone might have experience with.

My touch controller is long dead. I've been running for the past two years with a Raspberry Pi + touchscreen connected directly to the controller USB.

I've recently wanted to upgrade the Firmware on the controller. I've seen that the .firm file is simply a .hex file. I tried to use 'avrdude' to flash it but no luck.

Code: Select all

docmani@octopi:~ $ sudo avrdude -v -V -F -p m2560 -c arduino -P /dev/ttyACM0 -b 230400 -U flash:w:N2-Plus-Single-1.1.6rev1.hex

avrdude: Version 6.3

System wide configuration file is "/etc/avrdude.conf"
         User configuration file is "/root/.avrduderc"
User configuration file does not exist or is not a regular file, skipping

         Using Port                    : /dev/ttyACM0
         Using Programmer              : arduino
         Overriding Baud Rate          : 230400
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 2 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 3 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 4 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

Any ideas?

How do you connect the Raspberry Display to the board? I have this issue with half working display.
I buyed the Raspberry PI Display 1.1 but i am not sure how to connect.

Thanks in advance

You simply plug it in via USB.

Unfortunately I've yet been able to get anything to connect to my controller board as it uses a really high baud rate. And trying to get things to interface with it has been nigh on impossible
