N2 Power Switch Failure

Postby mad3dprintco » Thu Aug 22, 2019 2:57 pm

I have searched the forum, and I did not see any issues similar to this. Last week I noticed the power switch quit working, as in it felt mechanically broke. The machine ran fine, so I let it run. Starting a couple days ago I noticed it smelling hot, like burning hot. After a couple of prints like this, I decided to take a look at the power switch. As you can see from my pics it got toasty. The printer is ~2yrs old with about 4500hrs of print time. I am curious if anyone has seen anything like this.

I just had this happen to me and I'm mass producing face masks for area hospitals. :(

I have 5 other Raise3d printers and this one is one of the newer ones (just before they changed to the pro models), so I assume it's a defective switch. I'm going to bypass the switch (and hope that is all that is damaged) so I can keep printing while I wait for a replacement switch.
