Supports partial printing in PVA

Postby atelieroechsli » Thu May 23, 2019 8:21 am

We have some objects that need quite a lot of support. So we need a lot of PVA filament that increases the print costs a lot. Is it possible to create a feature that supports are not only printed with one material?

In case you are using PLA and PVA. Is it possible that the support structure is printed in PLA and only the last layers (or the first when printing on top) between the object and the support are done with PVA? For sure that would not work for structures like tubes but in other cases that could save a lot of material without giving up the benefits from using a water solvable material.

You can enable Dense Support Layers for your support and choose the nozzle for PVA to print Dense Layers.
