Bug: iM wants to accept incoming network connections

Why does IdeaMaker (2.6.1 on Mac Sierra) give the following panel when starting? ------------------------------------------- Do you want the application “ideaMaker.app” to accept incoming network connections? Clicking Deny may limit the application’s behavior. This setting can be changed in the Fire...

Hmm, LarryKib post number 2 was clearly spam.

Perhaps it's Vicky's day off.

Re: I will PAY YOU to find ABS print settings for part.

One of my money prints looks similar to that: 4"x8" and 1/8" thick. I print it in ABS at .25 layers with .6mm nozzle. First, flip the printbed over so it is glass-side up. ABS does not stick to buildtak worth a darn. Then cover the area to be printed with a coat of the gluestick that ...

Re: Printing at 0.01mm (10 Microns)

Slic3r offers variable layer height. I've used it to smooth the round top of a small piece, as it can keep the visible layer steps almost constant-width all the way to the last half-mm of the spherical top.

Re: One-at-a-time mode in IdeaMaker?

The solution is to simply lay out the objects so they make a diagonal line across the build-plate, ending near the Home position, so the head and gantry never crosses over a previously-printed part. This also allows for printing multiple objects one-at-a-time even if they are taller than the gantry....

Re: Hot Glue Dripping for Connectors (silicone)

My brand-new N2 dripped on a print last night. The glue on the printhead connectors and the heated bed is much too low temperature for the job, and it does not come off the buildtak after it drips there. Very annoying.

Crank it down firm, then back off 1/4-1/2 turn. The spring tension should keep it tight.

Re: Project Bondtech Extruder

Yep - I finally puzzled that out - it's a Marlin safety feature. Thanks for the suggestions. BTW, the installation video is confused about the Dual-extruder kit. At least on my new N2 Dual, it is only necessary to change the wiring at the cable-head for the rear (Right) extruder. The front (Left) mo...

Bondtech upgrade - motors don't run

Help! I just got the BT upgrade dual kit physically installed on my new N2 Dual, but can't get the motors to run. I switched one of the cables as described in their video, and plugged it in to check the direction and which motor it was. I went to the utilities menu to feed the extruder, but I could ...

Re: Printing multiple parts one after another

I vote for this feature too.
Printing one at a time also prints faster, because the head isn't constantly moving around between pieces.
Meanwhile, I'll use Cura 2.6.

Re: How to print with Right extruder only?

I found a solution to force use of the Right extruder only: Cura 2.6 has an Extensions menu. Selecting Post-Processing, Modify Gcode, reveals a Post-Processing panel, where the Add button offers Search/Replace. This allows replacement of all T0 instances with T1, which seems to kill the left extrude...

Re: Cura 2.4 Profiles for Raise3D

I've got a problem with this profile on Cura 2.6. I have a print that I want to happen entirely on the Right nozzle. No use of the Left one at all. Unfortunately, when I try to print this, Cura first heats the bed, then heats the Left nozzle, at which point I cut the print off. Why does it heat the ...

Left = .4 PLA, Right = .6 ABS/ALA

Thanks for the great answers. I finally wandered through the various Advanced panels and puzzled it out. Got it printing ABS on the Right at the moment, after printing PLA from the Left nozzle last night - no real problem, and the nozzles don't seem to cause problems for each other when they are rea...

How to print with Right extruder only?

I'd like to use my N2 Dual to print PLA from the left .4mm nozzle, or print ABS from the right .6mm nozzle, but I can't find a way to make the primary extruder be the right one.
Is there any way in ideaMaker to choose the right nozzle for everything in a print, or must I use Cura 2.6 ?

Re: Black hard goop on Nozzle and Heater Body

You can substantially reduce the stuff on the hot-end, and reduce the chances of blivets building up on the nozzle and winding up on the print, by wiping the nozzles and heater blocks with some silicone lube once in a while

One-at-a-time mode in IdeaMaker?

I haven't been able to find a "print one at a time" setting in IM. Printing one object at a time, rather than all objects same layer interleaved, can produce better quality prints (fewer retractions), do it faster (no wasted motion from piece to piece), and more reliably (when one piece fa...

Got it - thanks. I missed the Raisepack thing, as it is never mentioned anywhere else on the R3D site that I could find, and has no obvious relationship to the N2.

How does one update the display code?

I haven't found any info on updating SW firmware, while I read a number of posts discussing recent updates.
