If I use the N2+ in a small bedroom with poor ventilation, will fire alarm in my condo be activated?

Anybody tried it and had the fire alarm activated due to the fume caused by 3D printing?

Re: Can you share your experience on printing PETG?

I'm not sure why actually, but it definitely improved that first layer. Lens pic's below. This is 1.2mm thick. Hopefully you can see from the first image how transparent it is. This is just a tester, but the finished part will have six very bright LED's behind it, which make it really glow! DSC_099...

Re: Can you share your experience on printing PETG?

Thanks. So the filament won't get stuck in the nozzle?

DeftCAD, could you please include a photo of your clear print of the lens?

Can you share your experience on printing PETG?

Is it as simple as just putting the filament in? Do I need to change anything else such as nozzle with hole of different sizes, temperature, etc? Is it easy to be removed from the build plate? Is the fume as bad as ABS?

Re: One extruder or dual-extruder?

Thanks for the info.

If I buy the dual-extruder version of the N2/N2+ and do not use the 2nd nozzle for the time being, what do I need to do to make the machine to think like it were a one-extruder version? Just remove the 2nd nozzle and not to feed in filament into the 2nd extruder?

Re: One extruder or dual-extruder?

Thanks zemlin. In that thread, people talked about the weight a lot. So, what is good about having a lighter extruder?

Re: One extruder or dual-extruder?

What I did was go with the single extruder on my original N2 plus, BECAUSE I knew, eventually I would upgrade to the Bondtech extruder made for the N series and it is a dual extruder. If you have no plans of doing the Bondtech mod then get the dual. As you alluded to you can remove the second nozzl...

One extruder or dual-extruder?

Hello, I have used 3D printers for a few years. Except for the uPrint SE, the rest were with one extruder only. I read that users using the dual-extruder version of Raise3D's printers have issues of one nozzle hitting the object being built. I can get by with one extruder now but I may need a dual-e...

How the build volume indirectly affects the print quality?

Hello, the N2+ is twice the size as the N2. Given that everything is the same, does having a smaller build volume means it gets warmer and also warm faster in the N2 than the N2+. Am I right? How does this affect the print quality?

Re: Will I produce poor quality objects if I have the top cover on the printer while printing PLA?

If it won't affect the ambient temperature and doesn't blow direct air to printing surface, it won't affect printing result a lot. So when printing PLA, on one hand I have to keep the top open but on the other hand, I have to avoid having air blowing to the printing surface? I am thinking of placin...

Re: Will I produce poor quality objects if I have the top cover on the printer while printing PLA?

If you can ensure the ambient temperature won't be lower than 5C (higher than 15C will be more recommended), then the machine can run properly. For PLA printing, fresh cooling air is better for proper cooling to shape the printed out material well. Thanks Vicky. What do you think if I add a window ...

Re: Will I produce poor quality objects if I have the top cover on the printer while printing PLA?

This problem should be checked from the two sides. First you may need to confirm the ambient temperature of the place you will leave the machine at. If the ambient temperature is lower than 5C, the thermocouples inside the nozzle will detect and report MinTemp error, then you cannot run the machine...

Re: Printer failure

That doesn’t need any modification. That was my point. There are small ventilation fans that you can put in the ventilation tube. Just push it in when you use it. Remove it and roll it up and put in the closet than not in use. Or you could install a hepafilter in the printer to take care of the bad...

Re: Will I produce poor quality objects if I have the top cover on the printer while printing PLA?

If the ambient temperature is below 5C degree, you cannot operate the machine any more. Actually, we don't recommend to run the machine below 10-15C degree. Thanks Vicky. The current temperature outside is -7c. I am concerned that putting the printer on top of a desk so that it is close to the wind...

Re: Printer failure

Doesn't modification of the board void warranty? I plan to buy the printer after I can convince myself and my family that I have found a good way to exhaust the fume from my room. I also want to know if the new ones have this issue fixed. If you have an air inlet in your wall in your room you can i...

Re: Will I produce poor quality objects if I have the top cover on the printer while printing PLA?

OK. I should keep the top cover off when printing PLA. Will putting the printer right in front of or below the window in the Winter (without/without snow) produce poor quality prints? I suppose the cold weather would affect the printing.

Re: Printer failure

So, what caused the cable issue? What shall a new user do to avoid such problem upon receiving the machine?
