Re: Removing feeder tube

just want to point out, I believe the single and dual extruders have different circuit boards on them. meaning if your printer is a dual extruder model, you can't just remove the second thermocouple. you can remove the heater rod though. this is just what I have found when trying with my dual extrud...

Re: V2 with Insulation Barrier

didn't post this here. so I'll add it to this thread. I put a temperature prove on the end of the insulated hotend. hotend set to 205 degrees, temperature probe was reading from 74 to 84 degrees. so a range of 121 to 131 degrees cooler outside the insulation. since I have not been able to get the eP...

Re: Instruction to swap in V2 hot end (With modified firmware)

I haven't had the over extrusion issue on the sides. But I can't say I am 100% happy with the top layers.

Re: V2 with Insulation Barrier

i printed off my new air duct system in PLA and I have been running the printer for probably over 12 hours in jobs. With the insulated hotend, I have had no melting of the duct system. my duct system combines Andy's active fan with the official side units. I've been watching a lot of videos on diffe...

Re: Instruction to swap in V2 hot end (With modified firmware)

I've been printing stuff for the past week and have had various issues with small parts popping off the raft, tried to print my spaceship and the whole thing got knocked lose. I was running the hotbed at 50 degrees. I went to print out a 2 inch by 5 inch model and I found it had bad shrinking due to...

Re: Instruction to swap in V2 hot end (With modified firmware)

i am seeing temp swings (not just the first minute) of 223 - 236 (set temp 230 ) thats a pretty big swing and i do not recall seeing this on the old firmware. Will test some more but now i am starting to wonder what effect a swing of 13 degrees or more does to the print I'm having temp swings as we...

Re: V2 with Insulation Barrier

Not sure is this is specific to an insulated V2 Hotend or in general. I found that I was getting shrink on the raft at 50 C. I turned the temp down to 40 C and it was even worse. turning it up to 60 C and the shrink went away. My printer is also not in a standard environment. In a addon workshop. so...

Re: heatsinks on the X and Y stepper motors?

I moved the free temp probe to the end of the hotend! hotned is at 205 C and the temp probe outside the insulation is showing 74 C. got some heatsinks with thermal tape ordered from Digikey. I followed Jetguy's electrical box mod long ago. I put a devider between the fan and the board and blocked ai...

Re: heatsinks on the X and Y stepper motors?

Here is the start of my mod. First we have a computer fan / temp controller IMG_0414.JPG Installed temp monitors on the stepper motors and put a fan in on open space above the electrical box to create some air flow in the printer, lost from when the changes to the electrical box. IMG_0415.JPG IMG_04...

heatsinks on the X and Y stepper motors?

I had a shifted print and did a search of the internet for shifted print. one possible cause listed was that the stepper motors are overheating. This sorta makes since since it seems to be a possible issue on longer prints. would installing some kind of heatsink to the stepper motors possibly help c...

Re: V2 print using esun ePC

I need to get some parts today, just not sure how many I need or what size. I went and printed something else in raise3d black PLA and I had a couple issues with it. I'll make a separate thread for that though.

Re: V2 print using esun ePC

Michaelhauser, what flow rate did you use for the ePC? retraction speed?

I think the nozzle may have clogged. I tried to run it forward and it did nothing. so I pulled it out and the end of the filament was like it was bend and scrunched up.

Re: V2 print using esun ePC

It got further into the print at 260 but air printed again. I have not modified my feeder motors. I still need to apply the 1.1.1 firmware update as well. running 1.1 I did put some washers between the clear plate to add some room. and I have a filament guide topper on it as well. I haven't looked a...

the new print at 260 looks to going well. it has gotten to a higher layer then the last print. The print is a little bit stringy.

Re: V2 print using esun ePC

at 250 it air printed. so increasing temp to 260. also played with the print speeds, slowing them to 50 or less.

getting that information from http://www.esun3d.net/cpxx.aspx?id=206&TypeId=13

It had a smooth finish on the sides of what it did print.

Re: V2 print using esun ePC

the first print failed, started just printing string. does that mean i need to increase the temp? the raft is sticking to the buildtek alright. It seems in the higher layers the print stopped adhering

V2 print using esun ePC

printing out my new version of the air duct using esun ePC. while the hotbed was heating up, I noticed it was oozing out the nozzle. I used the V2 ABS profile to build a profile for it, but I slowed down print speeds to max of 60 and increased mins to 30. set temp to 235. bed at 110. not sure if any...

Re: V2 Hot End Information and Q&A

I've had some issues with model orientation. I think I need to print out my current fan mod but I need to figure out the settings for esun ePC so I can do that.
