Re: Shell a must?

@Regatta: I have done exactly as you suggest (all infill, no exterior shells) for vacuforming, and it worked wonderfully. But I did not do this on a Raise3D N2 or using IdeaMaker. No reason why this should not work, though, in my opinion.

Re: Reducing wipe walls for larger prints

@Vicky: thanks for asking! Suppose I am trying to print a part which is 2" in diameter, so the wipe wall is 3" in diameter, or about 9" long. I wanted a way for the wipe wall to only be 40 mm long (but arbitrarily tall). Does that make more sense? The idea is for the wall to be long e...

Has anyone been able to print PLA with soluble support on an N2?

After weeks of trying, I am about to give up on PLA and soluble support on a Raise3D N2. I know that this is possible with other printers (Prusa, Ultimaker), which is mystifying. I started out trying PLA with PVA from Ultimachine. Their PVA proved to be a bit too runny. If I printed it cool enough t...

Re: Brim missing

Thanks so much! The brim on the wipe wall is not really useful if you're trying to get the actual underlying object to stick to the build plate!

Re: Just Released N2 Pro

@bwulfe:

You said " My N2 Plus came with a simple webcam." Interesting. Mine is less than 2 months old, and it did not come with one. Anyone know what is going on with this feature?

Re: Brim missing

@Vicky: I assume that you want the files for the case where I asked for a brim but it was missing; do you also want the case where the brim is present? And do you need the slicing profiles?

Re: Reducing wipe walls for larger prints

The wipe tower is positioned outside the rectangle that encloses the printed object. For my object, this puts the tower MUCH farther away than it needs to be. The wipe tower should be outside the envelope of all extruder moves, not outside of the rectangle that encloses the object. This is not a bug...

Re: Brim missing

When I switch from Wipe Wall to Wipe Tower, my brim comes back! So, it seems that this is a bug. The brim is created for the support towers that are outside the print, but the support towers inside the print (think of a hemisphere) do not have brims. This is unfortunate. If we are trying to ensure a...

Brim missing

I sliced an object with PLA in one extruder and BVOH in the other (for support). While there is a brim on the outside of the waste wall, there are no brims on either the PLA object or the BVOH support; I would like brims on everything (one print failed because one of the support towers broke loose)....

Re: Reducing wipe walls for larger prints

I cannot see the word "size" in those settings. I do see "loop lines", but what I am looking for is a fractional number of loop lines.

Opening the electronics box

Any hints about how to open the lid on the electronics box without breaking it? I tried shoving a screw driver into the two obvious slots, but after pushing pretty hard, I'm not sure that is what needs to be done.

Reducing wipe walls for larger prints

My sense is that the wipe wall needs to only be long enough to ensure that filament (rather than air) is available for extrusion. When I print a small object (1.5" diameter), the wipe wall seems reasonable. But when I print a large object (6" diameter) I feel as if the wipe wall is wasting...

Support material question

I sometimes create a solid object in my CAD software and then make it hollow in the slicer by making the infill 0%. When I do this and also ask IdeaMaker to generate support, support is generated for the solid object, not the hollow object. For example, if I create a solid hemisphere and then print ...

IdeaMaker template icons and ordering

Is there any way to either sort the templates by name, or manually re-order them? And where do the icons for each template come from? The icons for the original templates are distinct, but all of the templates that I have created have the same icon. It would be nice if I could create or change icons...
