Re: File management

It would be nice if the firmware remembered the step value I entered last time (10, 1, 0.1). Every time I restart the printer, I have to reset that value.

Re: File management

I tend to want to capitalize the first letter in each word. The way shift works makes this very laborious.

Re: File management

I tried this. I have to "type" with my mouse rather than with my keyboard. Frustrating. After renaming a file on the 3rd page, I am back at the 1st page (frustrating) and there is no way to navigate back to the 3rd page (no arrows). I had to click Done to get back to the navigator to get b...

Re: Feature Request: faster way to position extruders manually

Thanks, Vicky. If there were a square that represented the build plate, and we could just poke a finger where we wanted the extruder to go, that would be very quick and easy.

Re: Erratic adhesion with PC and BuildTak

Thanks, EldRick. I verified the distance between the extruder and the bed, at the point where the print was going to be made, and at temperature, and this time it printed. I guess the build plate is not flat, or not flat enough. I have read about this problem before, but hoped that my printer would ...

File management

Is there a way to rename and/or delete a file once it has been uploaded to the printer?

Is there a way to see the files as a list? My file names are so long that I cannot distinguish one from another.

Erratic adhesion with PC and BuildTak

My first PolyCarbonate print was perfect (raft). So was my second (brim). My third failed when the raft broke loose. I set the build table height to the thickness of a piece of paper and tried again. Again, the raft broke loose. I'm using the default values (temperatures, feed rates) when slicing. T...

Re: Extruder printing in air with non-Raise3D PLA

Out of curiosity, I tried PolyCarbonate (since I'm looking for something clear) and that works fine. It is less clear [sic] whether I can find a soluble support structure to use with PC.

Re: Erratic adhesion for new printer

@Casale8: thank you. Just to be clear, once you cover the BuildTak with glue, it is great for PLA, but loses its rough surface, and is less good for some other materials that love the rough surface?

Re: Extruder printing in air with non-Raise3D PLA

Thanks for your help! I hope that the attachments appear as pictures. They are in the attachments file list, but I also saw an HTTP Error. The pictures show the filament where it stopped feeding. While the gear marks are different at the very end, there are no obvious divots, and there is no filamen...

Re: Feature Request: faster way to position extruders manually

If I run IdeaMaker and Connect and click with the mouse, it works reliably. When I poke at the touch screen on the printer in the Utilities tab with my fingers, it only works about 1/3 of the time. Most of the time, the touch screen works fine. But almost everything on the Utilities tab is erratic. ...

Extruder printing in air with non-Raise3D PLA

I have made a series of prints with Raise3D PLA and most of them have come out pretty well. I just switched to some Ultimachine clear PLA, and am having problems. Loading is fine, and the print starts out OK, but after a while, the extruder is printing in air. The filament has failed to feed properl...

Change how extruder temperatures are handled after Unload

Typically, after you Unload filament from an extruder, you will Load new filament soon. At the moment, after you Unload filament, the extruder is allowed to cool down, so that by the time you load the new filament, you have to wait, needlessly. I suggest that the extruder remain heated for (say) 3 m...

Erratic adhesion for new printer

I just received my printer, and the first two prints were wonderful. One was a small box; the other was a spiral vase over a raft. I am now trying to print a large flat surface, and nothing I do prevents the edges from curling up. I've tried with the BuildTak as well as glass with hair spray. I've a...

Feature Request: faster way to position extruders manually

I find the touch screen to be difficult to use. Sometimes a press works, sometimes not. With 10 mm as the largest amount that one can move the extruders, it takes a long time to move them to the center (for example) to test for proper bed height. Could we also be able to move by 25 and 50 mm please?...
