Re: 3rd Party Filament Trials and Tribulations

There's another way of looking at V1 and V2 now. V1 will soon be obsolete. I assume Raise3D will stop shipping V1 and only ship the 3 products with V2. Nozzles are a material resource. The get damaged. They wear out. They may need to be swapped out from a clog. The material used for the V1 nozzle is...

Re: 3rd Party Filament Trials and Tribulations

Andy, thanks for linking the original object as that's always good to show attribution to any print we discuss (hint to everyone else in the group). That said, to not compare apples and oranges, could you attach your custom STL file so that we are directly comparing the same results? I just got tes...

Re: 3rd Party Filament Trials and Tribulations

@BB What other 3D Printers do you have??? I think you misunderstand. I've had some success tuning and tweaking on my own. But what i see is NOT something that should be within the envelope of normal operations. It is another design defect. Subtle and harder to see then the others, but IMO a defect ...

Re: help. nozzle keeps bumping into part im printing

As I posted in other threads. I find that my N2 is VERY sensitive to nozzle crashes. I removed the right side nozzle and I added a MUCH stronger downward fan... which helps a lot with PLA... see the upgrades thread. I would also suggest not printing with a raft if you really do not need it unless yo...

IM to Printer bug?

After completing a print I go and upload another file, then go to the remote printer UI and I get the dialog with the two buttons that ask... Print Again and the other... Add Another print... When I select the later the screen changes then immediately goes back to the dialog. I have to go to the pri...

Re: Bed Leveling

Per the pic... BB has the fish paper which means he has the all metal lock screws. No nylon tips. BTW... while we are on the subject... the nylon tips... what temp are they rated to??? I set my bed to 100C for some materials and overtime that would soften most nylon REAL easy. If I had the nylon tip...

Re: Print Failed... Offset 2" to the left??

Not too sure we get the whole picture... Please tell us if this is what you have... a print that shifted 2-3" after it got to a Z height of 173mm... You then stopped the print. It was not an Air Print... right? If this is the case... I have found my N2 to be VERY sensitive to nozzle crash/obstr...

Play in the extruder carriage

I think I found why I see so much ringing in my prints. If I hold the extruder carriage I can move it and feel play That is there's play in the bearings (or are they bushings) in the square part of the carriage. No play anywhere else in the gantry only there, but it's enough to make the ringing. Any...

Re: So finally my N1 printer found it's home!

oops... wait... 40mm. I do 80 as my std speed(120 on the CR1). 40 is REAL slow! Although I did try and set acceleration to 200 (in my start gcode) from the 1000 default and i still got ringing even though you can see it going real slowly on the short paths. My gut is telling me the N1 is simply bett...

Re: 3rd Party Filament Trials and Tribulations

The V1 curse has finally reared it's head on my N2. I now see what others are seeing. I used Prototype Supply Black PLA from Toybuilders.com. However, I have been seeing this behavior with Raise3D PLA as well. Basically it is over extruding or perhaps overflowing or over pressured (?). The stuff is ...

Re: New version of ideaMaker and Firmware

I noted that in the release notes there was an item about IM using the objects XYZ position. Did I read that correct? If so then the XYZ spot that the object or part is within my CAD or design SW... the same spot that the object appears in NetFab as well... should also show in IM. I do not see that....

Re: Video Tutorials

I would suggest you start with the wiki on their website for some of the basics. For Raise3D to provide video support resources would probably take money. One of the reasons we are told the price is so low is because they (like MBI before them) will let the community provide a lot of the support. As...

Re: Broken Glass Bed

I got 2 cut at my local Ace HW. 13.75"x13.75", plain old plate glass. One for PVA, one for Aquanet super extra hold unscented. I'll probably get a couple more made for other materials. At this size ya gotta be extra careful. I'm thinking of covering the underside of each with tape just in ...
