Re: Buildtak

First and foremost - you didn't "simply state that I was speaking from a lack of experience with AQ". You saw the omission of AQ from my post and proceeded to belittle me for "not bothering to use it". Which is not only a blind assumption on your part but also an absurd and inco...

Re: Buildtak

I thought jetguy was the king of condescension, patronization, pontification, belittlement, and self-aggrandizement here, but you're sure starting to give him a run for his money, Andy. Well said, Julia. Well said. Some of these guys really crack me up but we all know why they do it. It's so much e...

Re: elmers glue

It's the purple stuff that works (although it does act gooey and a lot comes off with the print). If I could not get Aquanet I try a PEI sheet.

Re: Bed Leveling

Here's a tip to aid the levelling with the new screws, wind in the first worm screw tipped or otherwise, move the printhead over the top of the screw, wind the worm screw until it just touches the nozzle, repeat with the rest of the screws this will have them all protruding the same amount relative...

Re: Bed Leveling

Andy, This is a sweet Mod and I think I will undertake this in the near future, it makes perfect sense and I like the point: " I also can adjust bed height on the fly and not blind via the limit switch screw". To that end, as far as the spring stabilizer and washer I am going to go with P...

Re: Buildtak

30 may sound small but that's 30 round trips to the sink that I did not have to make to wash the glass plate of glue. 30 times that I did not have to wait for the print to pop off the glass plate while it was packed in my freezer. Many sheets of paper towel that have been saved. You will find that ...

Re: Print Failed... Offset 2" to the left??

At first... I'd agree with Jetguy. It looks like You're having feed issues long before any offset issues. But on a closer inspection I can see it offsetting back and forth from the beginning of the print and upward getting worse as you go up. "Z Hop" is in the "Ooze" panel after ...

Re: Buildtak

Buildtak works great! I have printed with Blue Painters tape and Glass with purple glue-stick in the past but have since stuck with the buildtak ever since it came with my Raise3D. Yes, I found that if your first layer is smooshed to far into the buildtak then you will have a bad time. As long as y...

Re: Would like to see layer number on LCD

In the latest firmware, it is showing time remaining now. Yes but it is the smaller number. Why? Limited space... xx:xx:xx Remaining is too long and we can barely fit it in with that front size. Hard to imagine with a 7'' touchscreen, you can still run out of space. I really do not see the operatin...

Re: Buildtak

Never had a release problem with Buildtak and glue stick. Maybe the glues stick helps act as a release agent. The joy of 3D printing, everyone has different results :) Find what works for you. The scraper supplied with the N2 is a bit stiff, however, and I can see how it might inflict damage. I use...

Re: ColorFabb XT Copolyester

I've used at least 2 spools of the stuff. It gave me excellent results. Quite a bit better then T-Glas or Winbo. I have not yet tried PETG or PET+ on the N2. Still testing it with PLA and ABS.

Buildtak

Why we recommend NOT using Buildtak; it will not always release. Some examples: 1. If you cancel a build during the first layer the single layer extrusions may have to be chipped off with a tool which in turn scratches or damages the Buildtak. 2. It may not release at all! I had that happen last nig...

Re: Build Plate Question

I tried them. They work, but don't cover the plate underside. Only spots in the corners and center areas... otherwise forget about removing the plate. You DO want to be able to remove the plate. You do NOT want to have to wrench a big object off the plate with it in the printer! This is why I LOVE A...

Re: IM to Printer bug?

It is on purpose. In case you forget to remove the previous print and start the next one with the model on the plate. Also when more than 1 person are using the printer, in case the next person forgets to remove the previous print and starts the next one with the model on the plate Ok... makes sens...

Re: Bed Leveling

Derek, Zettlinger is correct, I am looking more at the hardware and the replacement rather than specification. It is great that you have raised your standard but I am looking for the fix with the screws so I don't damage the heater. Thanks Andy and from what I can tell, your are correct. Just an FY...
