Re: Fan Mod (Extra Gcode Controlled Fan)

Hey thanks, i was looking into a parts cooling fan for quite some time. I even copied and printed out one version from thingverse nut realized, this rear mounted option won't work on my N1. I use EBM Pabst Fans with very good results. They're not cheap at all, but when it's a sound-sensitive environ...

Re: Printer failure

I definately won't make this for others, as i hate this kind of job and it's a liabiliy issue for me to top it off. But i could send you a set of parts, and as much cable as you need for your N1/N2/N2+, but shipping to Sweden could be a killer, don't know how much that would cost. The only real prob...

Re: Thicker glass bed... questions and thoughts.

Oh, Ok, i print on a 1mm PEI plate and plan on using 0.4 mm Tufnol Whale when i start printing PA12 Nylon. I never had the need of such a extreme flatness, makes no sense in book, because any technical stuff you push through the extruder warps somewhat during printing and facing this ugly face when ...

Re: Printer failure

Of course i'll bring in the resistors. Easy peasy thing with Jetguy's advise. We all can't thank him enough for all he did and still does. Other parts ? Well, i ordered the connector and pins from RS Online, the cable from IGUS, they both have everything in stock and it looks like things will come i...

Re: how to change E-step value in simplify 3d

Re: Printer failure

Ok, parts for a replacement cable are under way. I opted for IGUS chain.flex 240.PUR, 14x0,25 cable and fitting pins.

Re: Ideamaker G code generation for CR10-S

As a workaround, you could turn off Raft in the Ideamaker and check the difference between the two files at this line. If then is satisfying code generated, put a selfconstructed Raft-File (look as it as a printed part, name it myRaft_40x40, i. e.) underneath your part, oi you need a Raft for your p...

Re: Printer failure

Jetguy, thank you so much for keeping us informed. I'll incorporate this Mod into the replacement wire i'm fabbing soon. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ I for one continue to ask myself why R3D is so tight lipped on the issue. Re: Printer failure

:D :D :D Well, i found crimp wire pins and connector instead of ribbon cable connectors, now it's a definate go for me. If we can get information about which and where the resistors go, i'll crimp them right into the pin with the wire (needs another pin, but that's a no brainer, just order the next ...

Re: Printer failure

... So the real question that needs to be asked is are new printers shipping with either the mainboard resistor mod or the new safety board and cable set as a "standard feature" from the factory? I second Jetguy's latest question !!!!! Should we invoke the resistor mod on the main board s...

Sorry, i got this wrong. I don't have much to offer, just the cable chain and a universal but very precise (0.05 mm steps) Built Plate shimming system.

Re: Printer failure

Good find !! I'll look into this at IGUS first. I'd prefer the PUR Version, because it has 10 Kelvin higher end temperature capability. The connector, well, i don't know how they're called in english, but a quick search gives me this example ... https://www.eve.de/econ-connect-din-41651-pfostenverbi...

Re: Single Wall Hex. Cells - How Small Can I Go?

while i don't concur with Jetguy's postings, i'd try it this way.... You need turn down shells to 1, no infill, disable "check thin wall" and enable "fill Gaps in shells". This leads to a 0.4mm thick single wall. Then you set Extrusion width to 0.5mm xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...

Re: Printer failure

I would like to know if you find connectors for the flex cables as well. There's no way to find a fitting connector for this cable chain wire to a 2x7 Pin post connector. You have to place each of the 14 strands to the right pin on the connectors and use a tool to push them down, maybe a LSA Tool (...

Re: Printer failure

Congrats, i bit a rough repair, but hey, whatever it takes !!! I've done the same thing, absolutely !! !! On a sidenote, to me, it looks like this damage didn't come up from normal use. To me, it looks like the ribbon wire most likely was kinked during intial install. I can't imagine how this severe...
