Re: Printing a Balloon that can be inflated
@zemlin About how small is that part, we can obviously see it is on a finger but what were the measurements of the mold? How accurate was the product when compared to the design? The bead on the sealing surface is .5mm wide. The vents in the center are about 1.1mm wide. The overall length is 19.8mm...

I printed a pla mold and used that mold to cast the part in silicone.

Re: Printing a Balloon that can be inflated
FYI, I have been messing around with printing molds for custom seals related to the day job. I printed the molds in PLA, and because the details in the molds are very small I used a .2mm nozzle and layer thicknesses down to .025mm. I was skeptical about getting the level of detail necessary, but the...

I did not disconnect the breakout board - only the motors. I am aware of the thermal control issue and have noted the resistor mod to prevent it.

Re: Custom Controls/Command Buttons?
Until they do this, simply upload your own custom gcode file and name it the name of your script. Not as nice as some shiny button, but gets the job done until this request is implemented. Yeah, that would work. So - the image that appears with Ideamaker files .... I haven't looked into it at all, ...

In the text below the video it says the mold for the bellows was printed in PVA. Polyurethane was injected into the mold and the mold was dissolved when the urethane cured. Clever solution.

Re: Bond Tech Extruders . Any good, whats the improvement?
Just fwiw ... I recently swapped out my dual for the Bondtech. My upgrade was not just a bolt-on swap. The screw heads on top of the gantry slide interfered with the Bondtech body, so I needed to drill some clearance for the heads into the bottom of the extruder body. Also, the teflon feeder tubes w...

Would a Bellows-style device work? That might have a better chance of surviving the pressure and giving you the displacement you need. https://www.google.com/search?biw=1760&bih=1037&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=Qu8BWsPuFYXAmwHwzoH4AQ&q=3D+printed+bellows&oq=3D+printed+bellows&gs_l=p...

Re: Replacement XY drivers?
What ever you need to set your Vref to on Panucatt stepper drivers needs to be set to half that value. if you want 1.1volts, you need to set it to .55 volts. Originally I set mine to the same as the stock with the stock motors and I had issues with the motors over heating. the extruder motor was ac...

Re: Replacement XY drivers?
6 days in with my N2+ - still running test prints for the most part learning the machine's ins and outs. Based on info I picked up on this forum I had some Panucatt SD5984 on standby. Today I got my first lateral shift in a print. The drivers went in. Oddly, my machine was not stable with a Vref of ...

Re: RINGING the electromechanical challenge
There is another factor I've seen on my Makergear printer which is also a Marlin machine. I can provide some images later if there's interest. Some apparent 'ringing' appears to be due to mismatched stair-stepping of velocities between the motion and the extruder. This manifests in the width of the ...

Re: Custom Controls/Command Buttons?
Custom buttons with user-assignable scripts would be a nice way to address this issue - and would open up all kinds of opportunities for additional functionality without requiring updates or development cost.

Custom Controls/Command Buttons?
I use octoprint on my #1 printer (Makergear M2) and love the custom command functionality. For bed leveling, for example, I have made my own buttons to position the nozzle at each of the 4 corners of the bed as well as the center. I also have buttons for changing the Z-offset for the bed (the latest...

Am I understanding right that you bond the PEI sheet onto the MIC6 AL sheet and then place the stackup on the heated build platform? And you're using MIC6 for its flatness?
Yes, and Yes.

Re: Cyanoacrylate (Super Glue) to greatly improve adhesion
I don't get my N2+ until Monday, but I print a lot of ABS - Hatchbox is my preferred brand. I print on PEI sheet over aluminum at 100C. I scuff the surface with 1500 grit paper and then keep it clean by wiping with acetone between builds. If you over-squash the first layer you can break parts trying...

After having successful prints for a long time, i started to have continuous failed prints. After trying many different things, I replaced the nozzle and everything was back to normal. Although I couldn't see damage, the new nozzle fixed the problem. Just a thought. I had a similar experience on a ...

N2 Plus ... On a Table?
I have an N2 Plus on order. It will be my second 3D printer. My plan was to place it on a counter top next to my current printer - a Makergear M2. The counter is shorter than standard work - maybe 26" from the floor, but access to the back or left side of the printer will be limited. Strength o...

Re: Feedback on N2 plus dual
I installed the Bondtech printhead system on my N2. So far so good Thanks for the tip. I just ordered an N2+ dual as my second printer. Was a little leery of the extruder design. The Bondtech setup looks solid and seems to be a popular upgrade. I went ahead and ordered one - I'll swap it out as soo...
