Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

I have added the Raise3D Filament Monitor code to these compiled firmware versions: http://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6244&p=25627#p25627 and to the BLTOUCH firmware here (not compiled): https://github.com/ABH10/Marlin-for-Raise3D-N-series/tree/1.1.x_Raise3D_BLTouch I didn't do th...

Re: Touchscreen Firmware 0.9.7 Release Note 2018.1.16

Currently we define the filename postfix starts from the first dot, we can change it to be from the last dot in future version. May I ask the purpose why you want to edit the filename postfix? Since the touchscreen only recognizes Gcode and Data file. I uploaded a firmware file to Local Storage usi...

Re: Touchscreen Firmware 0.9.7 Release Note 2018.1.16

It would be nice if Raise3D could improve the "Edit" "Rename" function to support files with "." (dots) in the name, and maybe also to support changing the filename postfix. Currently the rename function assumes that all characters that comes after the first dot in the ...

Re: New Acceleration and Jerk settings

Default acceleration in the raw Marlin firmware is set to 3000 mm/s² and default jerk speed is set to 20 mm/s. Raise3D defined default acceleration to 1000 mm/s² and jerk speed to 12 mm/s in their version of the motion controller firmware for N-series printers. These settings are unchanged from the ...

Re: New Acceleration and Jerk settings

It is also possible to set a lower acceleration for the outermost perimeter (outer shell). This can be done by using a Post Processing Script in the slicer. This is the script I use in Simplify3D for setting 400 mm/s² for the outermost perimeter and 1000 mm/s² for other line types: {REPLACE "; ...

Re: PETG stringing

You need a high retraction setting to avoid stringing with PETG. I don't know what Raise3D PETG standard profile says, but I used 3-4 mm with Simplify3D. In my opinion PETG is much overrated. It is not a material you should use, if you need optimal finish of your model.

Re: motor connectors glued in place?!?

I believe the glue is applied after the plugs were inserted in their sockets. As such, they are not glued in place, but the glue is just applied afterwards to prevent the plugs accidentally come loose. You can just peel off the glue with a screwdriver or some other tool. But , I think you might have...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

The newer Marlin has included the FAN1_PIN in the list of SENSITIVE_PINS that are not allowed to be manipulated via M42 gcode.
If you need to control FAN1, then the list needs to be updated.
I have removed FAN1_PIN from the list in pins.h on GitHub.

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

It turns out that Raise3D is still using the M112 command for restarting the motion controller MCU, when FastStop is pressed. I put a sniffer on the serial line from the Raise Touch computer to see what happened. The problem with the Marlin 1.1.8 based firmware was in the new Marlin feature enabled ...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

I can confirm that FastStop doesn't work with this Marlin 1.1.8 based firmware. The FastStop function was originally introduced in RaiseTouch v. 0.7.0 together with motion controller firmware Raise3D v.1.1.2. In this firmware they had modified the M112 kill function to do an immediate restart of the...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

@Phife: No, the Marlin filament runout system doesn't work for us. We just need the motion controller to send a message to the Raise Touch-computer when the filament runs out. That is all the motion controller is supposed to do, when triggered by the sensor. The Raise Touch-computer will then pause ...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

Hi Phife, I took a look at the BLTouch feature and realize that this is very specific to the BLTouch sensor mounting etc., so it doesn't make sense to provide precompiled firmware for this feature. I think however, that you only need to do modifications to Configuration.h to get it to work. I made s...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

I will be happy to compile these versions for you, but as I am not using BLtouch myself, I will not be able to test it (I prefer a straight bed, - not mitigation of mechanical defects). There is a compilation flag in Marlin called "BLtouch" that needs to be enabled, but what else is needed...

Re: the version of github contains errors

Well, if you look in the GIT log, you will see that the latest Raise3D motion controller firmware "v1.1.6-rev1" was released on Dec 27, 2016. It was not recommended to use "v1.1.6-rev1" for a long time, but then in November 2017, it was again the recommended firmware version. For...
