Re: How thick can a layer be?

I'm just prototyping in PLA but the recommended material for these is PETG :)

Thanks for the assessment on 0.6 mm nozzles.

Re: How thick can a layer be?

I'm using 0.4 mm nozzles and 0.3 mm layer so I am over your suggested limit but there is no apparent problem with this item. I don't think I can realistically go up to even a 0.6 nozzle because of the width of the model (approx 2 mm).

What do you think?

How thick can a layer be?

I have a Pro2 using 0.4 mm nozzles and a project where (as usual) production speed is very important. Obviously, the fewer laps of the layer required to build a given height the more items can be produced in a given time. This raises the question, "How thick can a layer be?" As ever wary o...

Re: Delamination problem

Hi Vicky

I can't figure any way to get my print head to 'fast transit' about the place like that so I can check.
Can you send me some gCode which will race the print head around the perimeter of the print platform a couple of times.
Then I could have a look.

Thanks

PS - Stay well ;)

Re: Delamination problem

Sorry about taking so long to get back. Things have been a bit chaotic round here  We were thinking all the issues on the prints were because of improper slicing settings. So we were trying to adjust different settings for you and see whether the result is improving or not. Uh, huh! That is wh...

Re: Delamination problem

I think these photos show that we haven't fully resolved the problem.

Even now, I don't know what you are trying so I can't do more than send the images.

Looking forward to your response. :geek:

Re: Delamination problem

Got those files. Vicky, thanks.
Printer hard at work at the moment - I'll try these tomorrow.

BTW: You refer to 'the settings we select for your eSun PLA+'. That last set of results was printed using the settings I selected (I sent you a link a couple of posts back).

Re: Delamination problem

My bad. :( I said the left side medallion was printed on the platform. It was not. It was printed on a 2-1-2 Raft. What 'red and white leftovers'? Anything you see on the black background is just detritus on the (black) board I use as a worktop. Nothing to do with the models. I print on BuildTak. It...

Re: Delamination problem

After some trial and error I came up with a set of settings for my Pro2 which give me this: 200309-OnPLatform left - OnSupport right-640x478.jpg On the left is the underside of a medallion printed on the platform, on the right the medallion was printed on support. I am happy enough with the platform...

Re: Delamination problem

Hi Vicky Please, I do wish you would not simply ignore my questions. I am trying to learn as we go along and I can learn nothing if you don't tell me what is going on. :) Your last gCode had a few starting issues 200306-StartOfPrint-640x478.jpg and a few finishing issues 200306-FinishedPrint-478x640...

Re: Delamination problem

This is what was produced 200305-Vicky'sMedallion-478x640.jpg There is better detail in the attached large image. You can see that there was a little problem with the first few layers of the Wipe Wall. Otherwise all good. We sliced it with default templates, ... What do you mean by 'default template...

Re: Delamination problem

I ran your code, Vicky, and while it was running I noticed a few things. 1) Printing the Raft you use two first layers - for ages I have only used one. 2) The 2-1-2 Raft gave a better surface that I usually achieved. 3) You set the Printing Platform Temperature to 60C - I usually use 30C because eSu...

Re: Delamination problem

Got the files this time, thanks Vicky.
Perhaps we will get a better idea of whether your alterations have been successful if you re-cut the code for this
Medallion Reverse-478x640.jpg
Medallion Reverse-478x640.jpg (40.5 KiB) Viewed 3707 times

which is the Raise Giveaway Spinner (my cut).

I have attached my code if you would like to give that a try.
Thanks

Sorry, I've been away a few days. By the time I got back the file was no longer available.
Please try again. I'll try not to miss it this time.

Thanks
