Re: Delamination problem

Are you having any luck. That was 12 days ago. I know we had public holidays etc. but I'd like to know if you have actually tried this and how you got on.

New Manual for New Software

I have just changed to ideaMaker v. 3.5.2.4098. It has a changed interface including this whole new section
2020-04-22_13-52-34-640x441.png

There is no reference to this in any copy of the ideaMaker Manual I can find.

Is there a manual which deals with this section?
Where do I get it?

Thanks

Re: Pro2 has blown fuse

It was the red fuse that blew. The trick was getting into the Motion Controller box. The tutorial on that link is no help in trying to figure that out. I mean, it would be a help if you already knew to force a blade into the gap between the cover and the box so you can lever it off. But if you alrea...

Extension/retraction of Pro2 Extruder

Have a look at this: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArMxdUYEh9fKkBoXxdddrl-Sp5qm?e=a9MkGS
As you saw, the right extruder of my Pro2 does not move up or down when changing extruders.

Should it?

If so, how do I fix this?

Thanks

Pro2 has blown fuse

My Pro2 is dead. The only fuse I can find is the cylindrical glass one beside the power input (arrowed). The only fuses I was sent with the machine are a 10 and a 15 ohm spade-fitting solid-state type. 200419_Raise3D-Pro2-Fuses-480x640.jpg I can find no documentation about either type of fuse in a P...

Active nozzle drags on layer printed by other nozzle

I have just changed the nozzles in my Pro2 to 0.8 mm with a layer height of 0.45 mm. When setting up I set the clearance between the tip of the active nozzle and the print platform to the standard 0.2 mm. Now, when I am printing with two colours in the model (i.e. not just using the right nozzle for...

Re: Adjusting for change of nozzle size

I finally took the plunge and installed two 0.8 mm nozzles in my Pro2. I think it is fair to say the results are not startlingly brilliant. Firstly, the extruded filament does not stick to the wipewall and the resulting buildup causes blocking problems for the nozzles. 200417-wallUnstuck.JPG I adjus...

Re: Strange error message

I have just read section 5.2 of the ideaMaker Manual (again) and I have no more idea now than I did last time of what they are talking about - and last time I had none. 1. I have never used these things so why would I be getting messages (occasionally)? 2. Is there one of your video tutorial...

Re: Delamination problem

Well ... I had a go at that printing a string of iterations Until the flowrate got to 150%. Once again, changing the variables in ideaMaker had little, if any, effect on the model. 200408-SolidFill.png This is the top where, I must say, the cracks between the filament strings have filled 200408-150%...

Strange error message

I occasionally get this error message when I start the Slice process with ideaMaker
200407-Raise3D-ErrorMessage.png

Extrusion width is set to 0.48 and layer height to 0.2 which (my calculator tells me) gives a ratio of 2.40.

Is there something funny going on or do I need a new calculator? :?

Re: Delamination problem

Oh ... I've been playing round with those alright. In Extruder I put Extrusion Width up to 0.48 from the default 0.40 (0.40x1.2). That helped a bit 200404-Layer-640x441.png and 200404-SolidFill-640x441.png The trouble is that all my playing with Extrusion Width Percentage got me nowhere :( At 110% E...

Re: Delamination problem

I lowered Support Horizontal Offset from 0.7 (default) to 0.5 then hardened up the Dense Support by going from Lines to Grid and increasing the layers of dense support from 2 to 4. This gave me the best results yet - top -> 200403-TopSurface-640x478.jpg bottom - printed on support on right -> 200403...

No. I meant clearance - the distance between the pointy end of the nozzle and the surface of the print platform.

Nozzle clearance

Given a 0.4 nozzle on a Pro2 with the standard 0.2 mm nozzle clearance.
What should the clearance be if I change to a 0.6 mm nozzle; to a 0.8 mm nozzle?

Adjusting for change of nozzle size

I have been using a 0.4 mm nozzles to print PLA on a Pro2. For a production run it has been recommended that I change to 0.8 mm nozzles.

What else do I need to adjust? How do I figure out nozzle speed, feed rate etc. to suit the new nozzle size?

Re: Delamination problem

I just gave the beast a bit of a workout as you described and I cannot see any 'jumping around' . I'd be surprised if there was. The machine is only a year old and I have taken pretty good care of it. I am thinking that the problem is that the first layer laid on even dense support doesn't extrude e...
