Same layer, different names?

Would some kind soul tell me the difference between these two settings in ideaMaker for my Pro2?
SolidFill.png

If they the same thing then why are they both there?
What do they do?

Thank you

Re: Support doesn't fuse to base layer on long pass

Sorry about the delay Vicky. Perhaps this link will work better:

Talking about tip clearance - how do I set it?

Thanks

Support doesn't fuse to base layer on long pass

This is a test piece I created to examine a problem with support material not fusing to its base material. 200516 - Tee Test Piece.png There are three Tee Pieces stacked with gaps between them. My problem is that when my Pro2 starts printing the support material between the layers some of it does no...

Re: Bottom Surface Flowrate

Misunderstanding here, I think. (Let's stay on the one subject for now - Feed rate. We can come back to temperature ;) ) These images are rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise for some reason. As you showed them there are images of two pairs of 'coins'. In both images the coins in the top row were printe...

Sketch does not extrude

Sketch 25 in the attached ZIP refuses to extrude. It should form a flange plate 4mm thick up from the sketch (without the two bolt holes). Sketch is fully constrained and as far as I can tell all the corners connect properly. All I can get from the Extruder Command is Inventor Error.png Someone plea...

Re: Bottom Surface Flowrate

Hi Jetguy Back in action with a single-extruder Pro2. Raise3D's Australian National Agent does not have a $20 spare part for a $8K machine! Even worse, they'll have trouble getting them. It appears they have been out of production for a while. Download https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArMxdUYEh9fKk...

Short hiatus here. I am having trouble getting a new nozzle extension/retraction servo motor from the agent. I'll be back when I have my machine running.

Re: Bottom Surface Flowrate

Simple proposed test. Start the print file you've already printed. Easy, it's already on the printer. When it starts, change the feed rate percentage on the screen to 50%. Let it finish the print basically at 1/2 speed. Is there is a difference? (Probably yes- thus exposing what I said, you exceede...

Re: Bottom Surface Flowrate

Thanks Jetguy for taking over an hour working on this answer. I greatly appreciate your effort. Sadly, it is not much use reminding me that a brief simplistic manual (produced by a 3D Printer company which is not renowned as a Slicer Company) is not going to make up for years of experience. It's tru...

Bottom Surface Flowrate

Using the latest (to the best of my knowledge) ideaMaker Manual https://support.raise3d.com/ideaMaker/5-1-3-4-solid-fill-15-1007.html in section 5.1.3.4 Solid Fill I cannot work out the difference between (1) Bottom Solid Fill Flowrate refers to the flow rate of printing the interior of the solid pa...

Re: Belt issues pro2

Here is a guide about how to realign the gantry: https://support.raise3d.com/N2-N2-Plus/how-to-adjust-the-xy-gantry-3-680.html That's a set of instructions for an N2 or N2Plus. It looks suspiciously like MindController000 has a Pro2 or Pro2 Plus. Is that a problem? BTW: what is this Leveling Cube t...

We can't get better result with PLA support. Here is a far better test piece - 'Pancake' - STL attached. 200426-PancakeModel.png This is the best I can get - Top 200426_PancakesTop-640x480.jpg - Bottom 200426_PancakesBottom-640x480.jpg I am using 0.8 mm nozzles so the resolution of the embossed tex...

Re: Delamination problem

If you look closely at this 200401-SupportTest-Bottom-478x640.jpg it should seem obvious that the issue is not one of surface finish per se but one of the extruded filament not spreading (flattening) so as to bond with the adjacent filaments. It should, but the issue is that no adjustments you make ...

Re: Active nozzle drags on layer printed by other nozzle

I did have a calibration problem cause by not installing the nozzles properly. I have corrected that and I now only have the finish problem which Vicky is working on through another thread.

Thanks all

Stay well

Re: Nozzle clearance

mdana wrote:The clearance is the same for any nozzle. You change your first layer height in IdeaMaker.

When you change your layer height, I suggest you change your clearance between the nozzle tip and the print platform accordingly. You'll get into all sorts of trouble if you don't.

Stay well
