0.8mm Nozzle- settings?

Hello.

My current settings for 0.4mm nozzle are:
Here are my settings:
PETG from Filaments.ca
210 temp
60 print speed
80 bed temp
1.2 retract material amount.

How do I tweak the above settings if I were to use a 0.8 nozzle ?

Thanks.

PETG - it's a first for me !

Hello. Thought I would share in hope it helps others. Been printing PLA from the start. Decided to finally try a new plastic thanks to "JohnSays" :). So far....I like this material. Feels nice has a little flex to it and not as stringy as I thought it would be.....going to be using it more...

Am I oozing too much ???

Please refer to the images..... Did a simple dual extrusion test. It printed the wipe wall fine. Cube printed well with all colors and edges seemed to align well. Take a close look to the side of the wipe wall. It looks like the left extruder was oozing a little too much yellow filament. Black was i...

Re: Help Needed - Dual Extruder Test

There are quite a few on thingiverse. Typically you will see two separate STL for EACH of the colors.

Under idea maker as you import the STLS you will assign the left and right extruder. Then go under MOVE to combine the print into one.

Is it time to calibrate ?

After replacing my hotend and getting my printer back online, things have been going well when printing with left single extruder.

Today I decided to print a tiny vase to test a dual extruded print and here is the pic...

Does this mean I need to calibrate both nozzles ?

I Like To Feed It From The Top

Learning as I go along :)

Feeding it from the top minimizes friction and leverages gravity thus reducing print errors.

How about you ?
How do you feed your printer ?
Agree/Disagree/why ?

Re: LEFT NOZZLE STRIKE !

Will do....thanks for advice....but will wlso use a bigger nozzle next time instead of 0.4...perhaps 0.8 will help minimize clogs.

Will replace hotend with new one anyways but will fire up propane torch and clean out the old one

Re: LEFT NOZZLE STRIKE !

Thanks for the replies. I think the clue here was from Matthew - underextrusion This led me to take a closer look at my hotend/throattube/nozzle. Earlier in the week I started using a wood filament. Things started going down hill from there. Suffered mutiple clogging, prints would only print up to 1...

Re: Broke the Thermal coupler ?

Hi,
Nevermind.... :)
Spent some time studying this and figured it out.

I guess the positive in all this it made me feel comfortable getting my hands dirty and removing the hotend and the thermal coupler.

Broke the Thermal coupler ?

Hi,

Are there instructions or video on replacing the thermal coupler ?

I removed the hotend and the thermal coupler that senses the nozzle temp broke.

Any advice on how to replace?
Hope this isnt going to be big task

Thanks in advance.

Re: LEFT NOZZLE STRIKE !

Hmm.
Would slowing down the print speed also help when printing thin walls ?

Looks like Marvin printed good.

Trying one more test print now.

Then I will try another thin wall print but slowing down the print speed to half.
