Re: Printing with ONLY right extruder

Wouldn't be nice if the software did all of this automatically and you could just choose the extruder and the template - listening Raise? I had originally thought it would be easy to use a 0.6mm nozzle on one side and a 0.4 on the left but the nozzle sizes are not in the templates where they should ...

Re: What would you adjust in the settings to fix this?

The print quality issues your seeing are due to speed indeed. The minimal layer time is setting is causing the printer to slow down on the top of the part giving better print quality. Try slowing down the outer shell more to get rid of the slop in the corners in the faster part of the print.

Re: Anyone have a Raise3D printer?

I think mechanically it's the best you can get - there are some quirks but they can be worked around fairly easily. That said, Ive been printing every day for years and got my first R3D Pro2 two weeks ago. I haven't had a single issue yet but I already have lot of experience troubleshooting issues w...

Re: Experimenting with manual supports - Is this an example of a feasible support arrangement?

I think you can print the top without support at all - I would have the slicer create supports using a cutoff angle of 50 degrees overhang and see where it puts supports - then you can add or remove - you may even be able to print the whole thing without support... Each support pillar is going to pr...

Re: Experimenting with manual supports - Is this an example of a feasible support arrangement?

I would use a larger support size and try not to have any "air" spaces - this way the support gets printed as one continuous part and not a whole bunch of individual columns - support will not be printed where columns are not supporting anything unless you specify an offset.

Re: Adjusting Z height while printing

It cannot be understated how huge it is to be able to adjust z offset on the fly during the skirt so you can nail the first layer every time - especially on a printer that has no autoleveling capabilities.

You should be able to get it out with the right sized screw/bolt extractor bit - the fact that there's already a hole for the bit to grab onto is a big help...

Thanks! - that's what I figured - so best to leave the flow on the machine alone set at 100%.

Re: z probe/sensor upgrade

Second, third and fourth that - implement some sort of auto-leveling option AND the ability to adjust z offset on the fly in micro steps from the touch screen - I could do all of this with an aging 8biit rambo 1.4 and Marlin - it's a pity to have such a well made 32 bit machine held back by poor sof...

I agree - is there any way to prevent an unused extruder from preheating along with the used extruder??? I've set everything I can find to shut off the R extruder but it still preheats along with the L?

Flow Rate Settings... again...

Just set up a new Pro2 last week and have been learning the printer - so far it's pretty impressive - I started using S3D with the Pro2 but have switched to IM just to be able to control the printer without having to get up and go to the touch screen. Question is about the flow rate setting in the a...

Re: Getting rid of PLA stringing on detailed Prints?

I would also try oven drying your filament - even very small amounts water can cause ooze - I oven dry everything the night before I use it - even when it's stored air tight with tons of desiccant. Or I just leave certain filaments in the dryer all the time at 60°. And just because it's brand new an...

Better yet - why doesn't Raise just call up the Olsson guys and have them mill a run of ruby nozzles that fit the Raise extrudes - one nozzle to rule them all.

Re: z probe/sensor upgrade

Are there any plans to implement any sort of autoleveling on the pro 2? Given all the complaints about bed leveling issues on this forum, I would think it would be at the top of the developments team's list of to do's? Can we at least have a solution for the BLTouch if raise doesn't want to design t...

I've seen the stuff on the BLTouch on the N2 - has anyone done this for the Pro2? I'm about to take delivery of one and I am very spoiled by my bombproof BLTouch on my current printer. Does the Pro2 also use Marlin? I'm willing to design the mounts and modify and guinea pig the FW if someone will he...

Re: Can we talk about the Pro2 camera quality?

the higher resolution will still take more bandwidth of the network When you say 'bandwidth' are you referring to the CPU cycle of the machine? If the cam was broadcasting over wifi as the machine can it wouldn't compete with data to and from the printer when using a USB loaded with the gcode right...
