Re: Reliable supports that's "not" touching platform?

@noren - I'm printing similar models, and also have the issue of the generated supports getting knocked over. Generated seem to create too little support/vulnerable supports, and the slicer goes overboard. Did you come up with a system? If your supports gets knocked over you are probably extruding ...

Re: 8.5 day, 1242.5 g print - Am I tempting fate? - Questions

I bet overall time could be reduced a lot! You may use light supports(10-15%) but turn it to 30% and with dense right before print a surface... You may change infill from lines to rectangular.. (+ bottom and top layers too). You may not to use raft. And so on :) I wanna try to slice and calculate :...

Re: 8.5 day, 1242.5 g print - Am I tempting fate? - Questions

I had a print fail on my Pro cause filament run-out detection didn’t work, what happened was the end of the filament got stuck to the spool and it kept grinding and printed in air. That was with a different brand of PLA, but just a warning. I would be interested to see it run this print without any...

Haha, don't put it past me. :) I've done just that with a large run, for multiple consecutive day/nights. Wake up 3 am, remove the prints and back to bed, repeat at sunrise. Oof.

Re: Filament not detected - Print Paused - Ideas as to why?

It is hard to guarantee that the run-out sensor works with all kinds of material in the market perfectly, different colors, different diameters of the spools we haven't tested may cause mis-triggered the sensor. I would recommend test the sensor's function with our filament first to make sure it is...

8.5 day, 1242.5 g print - Am I tempting fate? - Questions

Hey folks - Newish Pro2 user here. I've got a two piece print that will be my biggest as of yet. I will be using Raise3D PLA on High Quality. Originally I was going to print the parts separately, but have managed to squeeze them in together. By itself, the largest piece was going to take 178 hours, ...

Filament not detected - Print Paused - Ideas as to why?

Hey folks - so I started a print last night on my Pro2, only to find via RaiseCloud this morning that it was paused. No amount of hitting play would start it back up. Eventually, the printer just displayed as "busy", appearing to hang. Come into the studio, and the LCD displays that "...

The number 5 is about the feature you mentioned.

Ah, I see! Thank you as always, Vicky.

If you input too large of a number, does it cause instability within the infill/print?

Can anyone explain what "Solid Fill Minimal Width" does?

I'm having a difficult time getting my head wrapped around what Solid Fill Minimal Width does? Google has been little help. Relatively new to FFF, so I'm missing something.

Insights appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Support material/structures breaking

I'm about 30 hours into a PLA build with support and I keep coming back to find the support structures broken. So far I've been able to save it by taping them back up but why? I can occasionally hear the nozzle dragging across these structures while traversing. Why does the support seem to be highe...

Adaptive Layer Height Causing Longer Print Times -SOLVED

Edit: Not sure what caused my increased print times with ALH (user error, bad model, probably user error...), but it is now working as expected. The time savings are impressive. Hey all, I have yet to find a scenario where adaptive layer height doesn't make my print take longer. I'm using the examp...

Re: Inner Shell Showing through outer, in preview - insights appreciated

Thanks for sharing your file. We have tested it on our side, seems it can be sliced with no issue with Print Shells in Optimal Order disabled. Great! It worked in Ideamaker, with not lines! Thank you. I will do a test print. Hoping part of the model doesn't get knocked off again. I'm going to try a...

Re: Inner Shell Showing through outer, in preview - insights appreciated

I have rebuilt the model in Zbrush, repaired it in every way possible, and the lines persist.

Now I am seeing the same lines in other models.

I uninstalled ideamaker and reinstalled it. Latest version.

Whoops! Sending those now. I am using obj and not stl, so I will send those along with the .idea file.
