Re: What can be done with the right nozzle ?

The documentation is not there yet. I discovered this by playing around. If you run ideaMaker click on the Printer menu. I suggest that you check to see what the "Current Type of Printer" is set to. I have a N2 with the V2 hotend, but for me it didn't default to this (I don't remember what...

Re: Filament "dust" appeared in print head by extruder gear and idler wheel

Yeah, regardless of the fine dust in the extruder being normal, my extruder feeder motor clicks with nothing (filament) in the feeder when I try to load filament. This I believe is not normal. Trouble ticket opened. Please remove the extruder cover and take a close picture of the feeder gear. We ca...

Re: Filament "dust" appeared in print head by extruder gear and idler wheel

Not trying to nitpick here, just pointing out that people feel I'm overly harsh, well it's a 2 way street. For example, Lyle kicked in and said this for no good reason in this thread. "Yeah, regardless of the fine dust in the extruder being normal, my extruder feeder motor clicks with nothing ...

WOW. My kids just asked if we could print that. Um, yeah in a few years when I figure out what the heck I'm doing.

Re: Project not on platform version 2.2.0 ideamaker

Vicky, Thanks for the offer. It's actually not an urgent rush and in fact not important at all now since my feeder gear on my left extruder clicks with nothing in it. I have a trouble ticket open and I need to take some pictures now. I'm not going to try to print anything with the right extruder unt...

I have noticed exactly the same as you have and I now also have some jamming issues.

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

Ok, another development. I to the fans off again, took the left heat sink off and used my heat gun to heat the cold parts and cleared out some more stuck filament. I believe that its pretty clean now. I put it all back together and tried to load filament. This time, before I could even put filament ...

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

So my left extruder is clogged again. I didn't even change filament. I was just printing. It started to air print and the feed system was clicking again. I didn't change any filament since I broke this down and cleared the jam nights ago. Not understanding why this would happen now.

Re: Project not on platform version 2.2.0 ideamaker

Ok, further update. If you use a profile that has support turned on, then you won't get the error and it will print a raft. However, I just printed a single model from this project and I noticed that it started printing a raft this time (yay!). The raft outline looked like it was going to have suppo...

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

Hi Lyle, I think a key to some of your troubles may be in one your your early posts where you say something like "the only way to heat the extruder is to issue a load command". Not only is that not true, but that may be why the motor keeps getting re-energized after you've disabled it - w...

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

Ok, my printer can print now. I'm certain that the clog was self-induced based on how I was loading/unloading filament. Basically I went to the utilities screen, pressed unload and then the filament started coming back out of the extruder. I probably helped it (screwed myself) by pulling it once it ...

Re: Project not on platform version 2.2.0 ideamaker

Vicky, Ok, I will help you to test. I'm waiting for this now since I really would like to print these parts with a raft and right now that's not possible. Each time I get these errors and no raft prints. I also saw where someone said that the first layer of the model is deleted when you have this er...

What new version? I am running the most current version that came out on May 24th. Are you referring to an internal new version? What is the ETA for this new version?

Re: Project not on platform version 2.2.0 ideamaker

By the way, I get this error even if I don't move the model or stretch it, expand it or anything. I try lay flat and on platform and nothing helps. I'm attaching a few more files from the same project, some have the problem and some don't.

Re: Project not on platform version 2.2.0 ideamaker

I get the same problem. After I got my jam cleared, I tried printing 6 objects. It was 2 gears with indents and 4 gears without. When it started I noticed that it wasn't printing a raft. I always print with a raft so I almost cancelled my print but I decided to let it run. The final print has 5 of t...

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

@lylewaters, Sorry to hear that you are having problems with our printer now. By the discussion so far, we can conclude that there is a small piece of filament stuck inside of the throat tube. The place it stuck in is the same height where the heat sink is. It is not hot enough there to melt the fi...

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

I didn't see any documentation anywhere that says not to heat it to 270 because it is going to damage the printer. 270 isn't going to hurt the printer but it will burn the plastic meaning it isn't going to melt anymore and may make your problem quite a bit more difficult to solve. So when clearing ...

Re: Both extruders can't load filament - dead in the water

Lyle, I get the frustration but when you instantly talk back to me, my desire to remotely help you goes to 0. Listen more, talk back less. Vernon, I'm actually not very frustrated. I am trying to get my printer fixed and I am also trying to explain my observations in layman's terms. In many areas, ...
